I own l226wtq and can run it @75hz through dvi at native resolution 1680x1050. There is quite a difference, when playing fps (first pers shooters), which can run at more than 60 frames per sec. ( cs, cs:s and other). In slow paced games or desktop use i can`t tell the difference. So here is the guide how for my l226wtq, but i think that other lg`s ( l227wt for example ) will also be able to run @75hz. To set the custom refresh rate i use powerstrip. The only problem is that "advanced timing options" menu in powerstrip works only with ATI cards and
older nvidia cards. Newer nvidia cards use some algorithm within the driver and it`s not possible to change the refresh rate with powerstrip ( this was written on the nvidia forums). But feel free to try it and post the results here. The difference in 60 and 75hz in FPS is huge !
1)Download powerstrip
from here. Install it. Remove it from the auto start up programs list ( start > run > msconfig > start up > uncheck "pstrip".
2)Start the program, enable the hotkeys and have restore adapter defaults hotkey binded!!! Default hotkey is ctrl+alt+s. It is very important to have hotkeys enabled !!!

3)Right click on the icon in the taskbar > display profiles > configure > set the resolution to the desired one and refresh rate to custom timing. Enter advanced timing options and set the options as in this picture

4)Change only the refresh rate hz. This values 75,056 75,156 76,009 and many other work with my l226wtq. Try them. If the lcd goes in stand by press ctrl+alt+s to swtich to default resolution and refresh rate.
5)If this exact values do not work with you you can try typing custom refresh rate value and click the arrow up/down without moving your mouse ! If the monitor goes in stand by mode click again without moving your mouse, so your pointer is again on the arrow. Repeat clickin untill the screen turns on.
If this doesn`t work press ctrl+alt+s for defaults again. If something goes wrong and you can`t bring the defaults back simple restart will do the job, because the program won`t start next time with windows. If you have not removed the program from the start up list the screen will go in stand by after every restart. Then you should enter safe mode and uninstall it!
Setting my l226wtq to refresh rate which is not supported by my lcd does not damage it. It simply goes to stand by, but please use this method at your own responsibility!
I`m thinking of buying l227wt, but i`ll be happy if some of its owners can post if he managed to set it @75hz, because as a cs freak, this is very important for me
