I'm assuming your talking about reviews of the Dell 2408WFP
Considering what site we're on lets start with the Anandtech roundup of 24" LCD's.
24" LCD Roundup
They give the Dell a silver editors choice award. They would have given it a gold except for the input lag.
X-bit labs did a review on the Dell by itself.
Dell 2408WFP Monitor Review
His biggest complaint with it seems to be the OSD.
TFT Central reviewed the Dell also.
Dell 2408WFP
They also seemed to like the Dell.
There is also the albovin review of the Dell that is linked to in the second post of this thread where it is recommended. I won't provide a link to that one since there is one in the second post. He seemed to like the Dell.
I think the only negative reviews I found of the Dell were on Trusted Reviews who it is suggested in the first thread is more subjective.
The HP LP2475w is also probably good, but if I buy it from CDW I'm pretty much stuck with it if I don't like it. The report of color uniformity issues in the second post of this thread scares me about the HP. There is also pretty much the same comment about the HP on HP's web site by someone that got one of them at work.
I'm kind of making the assumption that I don't want a TN panel based monitor. I'd rather give up some speed for a better looking display.
My take is the dream display is either the NEC LCD2490WUXi-BK or the NEC LCD2490WUXi-BK-SV. Since the first one is just about $1100 and the second one is just about $1300 they should be dream displays. Unless I was just rolling in money I can't see paying that much for a monitor. Also, I can just imagine how ticked I'd be if I spent that and found a couple dead pixels on it and couldn't return it.
I'm going to hook the monitor up to a KVM switch that uses a VGA connector. Using anything other than VGA means I have to buy a new KVM switch. That's another $200 or so and the DVI KVM switches I think all use USB mice and or keyboards, which cause another problem, so VGA it is. So, my take is the Dell wins for it's VGA port, it's Premium Panel guarantee, and it's lower price. The HP loses because of the color uniformity issue and having to use the supplied cable with a DVI port to connect it via VGA. The NEC's lose because of their price. As far as the input lag on the Dell I read some articles on X-bit labs about some LCD specs. That helped put it in perspective for me. Generally the only games I play are the Command & Conquer games so I don't think the input lag will be a problem for me. I never could get into FPS games and I only play against the computer so I don't think for me the input lag problem is a factor. Considering my specific needs and setup I kept coming back to the Dell as the right choice for me. If I did play FPS games I might have made a different choice. Oh, and my general take on the whole LCD situation is I'd buy another CRT monitor in a heartbeat if I could get one that was wide screen and had HDCP. The one poster was right on when he said welcome to LCD hell. I still think in general that LCD's are inferior to CRT's. My one friend was touting the weight of LCD's. I think the last time I moved my monitor was about 6 years ago, so I don't care about the weight.
