Let me rephrase that. I saw one of these at the BB today and the label only covers the middle portion of the CD just like a record. What I meant was to cover the middle portion (the Verbatim label) with your own self made label, to make it look like a record with your own label. Hope that was more clear

I think we can all agree that neither party has been a stalwart defender of civil liberties, particularly in regards to yon online rights. The best way to combat this is by giving money to the EFF (see sig) rather than complaining while rights are eroded

Or you can vote for me, so soon as I come of age, in the I-Hate-Barbara-Streisand Party. It's sorta libertarian, but with immense penalties for any corporate wrongdoing.

In a slightly more on-topic bent, these cd-rs are pretty sweet; i know a bunch of people who'll get a kick out of them. Thanks for the heads up!

Those DO look awfully cool, but I dont know if im ready to spend 50 cents per CD-R

Man, and to think, my friends and I use to use blank cds as money ($1=1 CDR). Heh...now anything more than free is expensive.

Bought some of these @ Target (4.99 per 10pk w/cases).
Having problems with quality of recordings. Supposedly good burn but volume goes in and out and overall sound is muted. Repeated again with different burn software. So far Nero, Roxio, and NTI produce sucky cds with this media. Even tried different burn rates. All the other media I tried did not NOT have any problems (memorex, taiyo yuden, regular verbatim).
If it were only 'needle hiss' I would be ok with the problem, but the cute retro cds are turning in to cute retro coastersl:frown:

Anybody having any luck with these??

fishsocks, oddly enough, things are going fine for me. Of course, I'm burning MP3s onto CD (since my car CD player will play it)... so that may be the difference. My girlfriend--she's "undertaking" the project to make copies of her originals (since about 100 were stole from her car about a year ago)--says she hasn't had problems. Maybe you got a bad batch. sorry to hear about your problems.

Oh, and by the way, they really do make great gifts. I made my parents both 10 CDs a piece... and they really like the vinyl look. And 50 cents a piece (with cases, at target) really isn't too much to spend for something that is really superfluous. I mean, its really only "special purpose".

Oh, and as far as the "burn side"... its dark blue (works great with a Yamaha F1).

Yeah they are good...I paid $4.98 @ target for the 10 pack when they were having the clearance sale a couple of weeks ago with the dart boards.

i bought a 10pk at gamestop last night in the mall, i forgot the brand i got, hafto look when i get home (my cd players arent picky with brands, but usually i pick up TY's) anyways, i looked on the bottom of the cd-r's and they were black, like on the bottom of the older ps1 games. so, ill try burning something tonight and hopefully it works ok. my deck has not denied a cd once, so, we shall see. i thought that was pretty neat though, the dark black bottom for the dye, and it has the retro vinyl look on top.
