Ok, I am definitely gonna be returning the phone. The file manager on iOS is just a mess. I don’t see why apple cant just give us a simple file browser and let apps access to internal storage.
I have 25gb worth of data on my sd Card. Since iPhone X takes no as card, I had to transfer all the files. This does not fit on the 5gb iCloud and I have no patience to wait for uploading and downloading either.
i had to transfer files directly. I just copy and paste into some folder in the iphones internal storage like on android right? Bloody no. I had to download iTunes and get another third party apps from AppStore like documents to transfer file. How is this possible if my computer runs on Linux and does not support iTunes? I had to go to a friends house and borrow his windows pc. This is BS.
I got all 25 gb in a folder on my document app now so good. Next, I wish to download a 2 gb movies from the internet using chrome and add that to my library. And guess what? Unlike android, iOS chrome would give download fail every time if I lock the screen and minimize the app. I had to use another third party downloader from the App Store. No big deal as long as it works. BUT because apps can not access a common internal storage, I had to bloody transfer the file from the downloader to document. This means duplicating files and it is bloody time consuming for large files like 2gb movie. After downloader transfered to documents, I had to delete it on downloader to save space. Why do I have to do this extra step? Why??? On android I can just simply open a file on my internal storage from any app. This is utter nonsense. Why do I have to transfer file from app to app if they are all opening the same bloody file?
Lastly, Mobile tethering is impossible. I found out my carrier charges $10 per month for tethering. I never knew this because somehow tethering always work on android phones. I only found out about this policy after I switched to iOS. How come android was able to bypass carrier restriction and iOS can’t for some reason? I did not even bloody root my previous android phone to have this functionality and carrier charging extra for mobile hotspot when I already have a data plan is BS.
Android always have the perks of downloading and installing apps from unknown sources. When I saw iOS can do the same using certificates and similar loopholes, it convinced me to give iOS a try. And bloody hell, those apps have so much bugs, glitches, crashes, and are nothing more than just cheap hacked, modded, or pirated versions from the AppStore and generally low quality. Many haven’t seen an update since version 1.0. Kodi for instance isn’t found in appstore(even though it is on android playstore)and I had to install it from TutuApp and it doesn’t bloody work because the app hasn’t been updated since Jarvis.
The final straw is the freaking screen, rather than using all the bezeless screen, many apps have this stupid black border on iPhone X, reducing the screen size to more or less that of 4.7 inch iPhone 7. This makes video consumption and gaming a complete disapleasure. For a 1 thousand dollars phone, I seriously expect the software experiences to be perfect.
I know I am just ranting here but I am a bit pissed after 4 hours trying to transfer and manage my bloody files and trying to bypass the tethering restriction.
