I'm not normally impressed by overpriced supercars but that looks badass. It looks like someone took an ALMS Acura LMP2 car, put a roof on it, and gave it a big gaping hammerhead shark mouth at the front.

I wonder if you have to have the expense account of a Formula One team to operate it regularly though.

I doubt most of us could even afford that.

The car does look badass. Not sure I am huge on the wing as it is but the rest of it looks like a mean and fast mofo. Coloring is nice, too.
Not even close.
It's legal if the cops can't catch you. Course, I doubt it would run on 95% of the roads and would likely bottom out simply coming out of a mcdonalds (not to mention I imagine there's no way to use the drive through).

Sweet merciful crap! Say hello to the most exotic supercar in the world. Sounds like they don't really intend for this to be used as a road car at all, and obviously only the hyper-rich will buy a $1.8M track toy, but what a toy! Stunning. I'd take those dumb decals off mine, though.

It's funny, I got to see a Maserati MC12 up close and personal here in SoCal over the summer. Guy drove it down to HRE Wheels along with a guy in a Porsche Carrera GT a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Ferrari F430. You wouldn't think that two cars could make a Gallardo and an F430 look plain but the Carrera GT and the MC12 definitely did. The guy with the Carrera GT was giving rides and did a few smokey donuts in the back lot. It was crazy.

This is why Pagani has stayed in business. Cars designed by a 10 year old for those of us still 10 at heart (not that I could afford the lug nut either).

i wonder just how much slower that is around, say, monaco, than an F1 car?

A lot slower. It would likely be faster than anything street-legal, but MUCH slower than an F1 car. Probably more along the lines of a GT1-class racing car (which is essentially what the Zonda R is).

A bit off topic, but has anyone else "driven" the Zonda in GT4? That thing is practically impossible to drive with any power mods. No traction at the rear.

Yeah, way WAY slower. In fact, most track only vehicles, like a Stohr, ADR, or Formula Atlantic would be much much MUCH faster.

So the veyron doesn't have top lap time? I was under the impression that the Veyron was absolutely Godly. Like goes 0-100 faster than the mclaren F1 gets to 60. I looked up some lap times and Didn't even see the mclaren in the top 30. According to wikipedia, a viper is number 1? I'm confused.

Straigt line speed does NOT equal the ability to go around a track.

Veyron is heavy and not really built for a track car. The Viper ACR is just a canoe with a really big engine. That's why it's the fastest.
