It's cloudy and cool. It isn't as cool as I'd like, but it's starting to feel like fall. Bestest time of year. That's what I'll miss most when I'm dead(assuming I miss anything at all). It's supposed to be upper 70s midweek next week, but that's a first world problem for another day. Today it's fall.

The weather is nice enough to have the windows open, my Threadripper computer is finally behaving, I didn't have to work, and I took a nap. Good times.

Went for my eye exam and got 20/20! For some reason I feel like my vision has slightly degraded so I was a bit worried that it was, but it must be my imagination or I'm expecting too much. since I got LASIK I find myself "testing" my vision all the time subconsciously. Though I did have a bit of a prescription like in the decimal points, so my eyes may have slightly changed but the eye doc said it's such a small amount that it's basically noise. Like I could go for a checkup in a day from now and the numbers might change.

I went to Outback Steakhouse for dinner, and they had a Steak and "All you can eat" Shrimp special for around $20.

Man... my waitress took that "All you can eat" claim seriously! She was bringing out two refill plates at a time before I even finished my first plate. She must have thought that I was getting bored with the garlic shrimp, since she brought me fried shrimp as well. finally told her to stop bringing more after the fifth plate of shrimp... holy hell. Those shrimp were pretty small, but I made up for it in volume!

I won an item I wanted on eBay with a $150 snipe. Granted I payed a hell of a lot more than I wanted, but thanks to the standard issue eBay flees the price was jacked up on an hour by hour basis. But my nice $150 worked.

I got a new flapper for my toilet. Pretty exciting. For the last eight weeks or so I've been flushing the toilet by taking the cover off, removing the flapper, then dropping it in place after the flush; PITA. I never remembered to get one when I was out, and I'm not making a special trip for something like that.

I barely remembered today. The hardware store was expanding, and I was just wandering around checking things out. I get to the plumbing section, and remember "Flapper!", and finally got the stupid thing. It'll be nice using the handle like a normal person for a change :^D

Speaking of toilets I actually fixed mine with a 50 cent part a while back, I was proud of myself. Yeah I could have switched out all the guts and it would not have been that hard of a job, and I did buy all of that, but also bought a gasket so I can try that first and it fixed it. Basically the toilet just stopped filling properly.

I'm almost tempted to fix one of the slow ones at work. For the money it's worth it, and maintenance are never going to come here to fix something that still works.

Today we moved out of the construction site we've lived in for far longer than we ever intended, right as the cold snaps are setting in. For the first time in five years we'll have heat in the winter.

Peasant?! How dare you sir! I got the finest flapper available at a cool $9 cash. They asked if I wanted to finance, and I said "Who the fuck do you think you're talking to? I'm from ATOT!" They said "I'm terribly sorry sir. We didn't recognize you with that farmer's tan. Would you like a bag?" I said "No thanks", and walked out like a boss.

I ordered a Corsair SF450 PSU last week that was supposed to be delivered Saturday, but it was delivered to the wrong address ("Delivered, To Mail Room" - there's no mail room here ). Went on Amazon's support chat and they are sending a new one, no charge. Took only 1 minute... I wish all support was this quick.

I found my little East German backpack I wanted to clip to the rear headrest in my truck to hold gloves, hats, and other cold weather gear. It'll take the place of the crappy pepsi bag I found years ago. The mystery isn't completely solved though. Apparently I have two of those bags, and one's missing. I outfitted one as a ghetto drybag, and kept it clipped to the pedestal in my canoe, and that's not the one I found. The search continues...

I needed toilet paper so went to grocery store for some and the Cashmere 3x size rolls were on sale! So I bought two packs. Still like $50 though. Probably be good for a few months there.

$50 for toilet paper? Is that made from real cashmere? :^D

Winesap apples are here! Just got back from the farmers market. Love those things. Also got another bottle of Michters rye and and some port from the liquor store. The port I bought on a whim. I'll open that when it gets colder out.
