Cold is basically gone, got some good work done today. Hopefully tomorrow will be nice and quiet so I can get caught up with work.
Work?! What do you want to do that for?! Even if I weren't going anywhere, thanksgiving is a good excuse to fuck off. I'd spend the day drinking whisky, and cooking my tofurkey. Not much different than what I'll be doing, which is drinking whisky and watching someone else cook ox tail, though I may be assisting the girl with the stuff she makes.

Well, I enjoy work and if I wasn't working I'd be doing homework or whatever. I'll be watching football, so it'll be fun. I really am behind in what I'm doing and time is a factor, so it's worth it. If I lived out west I'd probably go hiking, but the hiking here sucks in the winter.

I used probably six months' worth of accumulated frozen meat drippings to lubricate my stuffing for tomorrow. (I usually use it to make broth.)

So not only will my stuffing be full of delicious animal fat, despite being cooked outside the bird, but I have a bunch of empty tupperware now!

I also tried using a food processor to slice vegetables for the first time, and it was perfect. I'm so glad I bought that thing.

I'm half way through a set of 12h day shifts. I find those are always the hardest so nice to be closer to the end. I hate getting up early. 12h night shifts are easy in comparison.

As the Kitchen Overlord, I will continue to preach that people should cook their stuffing outside of the bird. Forever and always, no mushy stuffing, amen.

The weather was pleasant for thanksgiving. And it looks like theres gonna be some nice deals on black friday.
I wont go out, except maybe to hit up the grocery store for leftover rolls and pies.

Got my dirty little cousins a game during black friday. Amazon had Forza 7 marked down. I got it. Emailed my uncle the code.
Xmas shopping is basically done for me. Got myself a shielded dubbing cable for the computer audio.

I finished my last day shift and now I'm off for a few days.

Going to be nice out for 2 days and I should finally be able to finish my shed to a point where it will be weather proof.

Went down to the grocery store to do some post-Thanksgiving turkey shopping. All of the fresh turkeys were on markdown, as low as 29 cents, with a sell-by date of 2 or 3 days away. Cheapest one I got was under $4 for a 12-pounder. I think I ended up with 7 or 8 fresh birds. I've got enough variations of recipes that I don't think I'll get sick of turkey anytime soon. Plus I mostly live on chicken anyway, so this will be a nice change of pace!

Yesterday was a successful flight from San Fran. into Portland in the Sim with 8 mile visibility. I rode the ILS down on that one. Tonight I fly into Washington. My goal is to reach Alaska once again and do some Aleutian Island hoping.

A local news station was talking about people not heading out for Black Friday. Why would you go and fight the crowds for a very rare deal when you can just sit at home and order whatever you want? Brick and mortar retailers are fighting a losing battle and it's going to be interesting to see what happens when Amazon essentially owns shopping in the US.

I had two Amazon orders that arrived in my city yesterday according to the tracking but were not in the system or attempted delivered so I could not pick them up as they may have been at another warehouse or something. So I figured I'd be stuck waiting till Tuesday because they would try to deliver Monday and I would not be home then it stays on the truck all day. But they actually delivered today! On a SATURDAY! Was a guy with a rental van lol. I think because it's Christmas time they sub contract it out and deliver on weekends too. So I'm quite happy. Both orders were also in the same box, which is interesting given they were two separate orders so it's cool that they did that.

I am in the process of porting an existing C++ graphic library for home use and optimize where i can to 32bit mcu architectures while using C. When all is finished and it works i plan to release it on github. Today i found the flaw in my draw string function code. I forgot to reinitialize a pointer properly and the character draw function would all the time return with an error after drawing two characters. As it turned out, the flaw in my code would occur as soon as one character was drawn. But because of a big coincidence, the second character was correctly drawn because the pointer just happened to got the correct offset. But i am happy anyway. ^_^

Ugh troubleshooting stuff like that can be a pain haha.

Was trying to troubleshoot a really weird behavior on an Atmega 168 once. Turns out my program exceeded the memory so it just made it act really weird. Turns out static strings take up memory so had to use a special function that makes it not use up memory. I had a fancy command line driven system on the uart port so all the text, lines etc was taking up all the memory lol.

Got a new shower head from aldi today. It's one of those big ones that makes a rain storm. Never used one before, but I'm pretty stoked. I needed one anyway, and they had a few in the clearance bin. Only cost $7.50. If it sucks, it won't be any big tragedy.

Sushi for breakfast again! Looks like the key is leaving .5hr later to get sushi, and the crowds are still manageable at that time. Got raw tuna spicy volcano roll, and some vegetable dumplings. Perfect

It snowed like 5-6" last night so I'm going snowboarding tomorrow night. Good start to the winter; I'd be OK with 6" snowfalls every 2-3 weeks.

I've never considered sushi for breakfast, but that actually sounds pretty dang good...a quick, cold hit with protein & rice to fill you up. Hmm. I may have to try this sometime...
