Got 60 Toblerone bars for <$2/each. Hopefully that'll be enough for halloween. Still need to get some particularly good granola bars as a backup in case I run out. That way I can take them to work if I don't need them, and if I do, the kids will have something good.

I beat walmart out of $1 today. Stopped by to get a couple gallons of canola oil for my saws, and some cat food. The bill at the automated checkout came to $20.65. I put in $21.15, and got $1.50 back in change. I'm the big winner today \o/

You have to understand the whole plan. When the tykes show up at his door he hands out machetes and takes them on a ghost safari in his jungle like yard. If they find the ghost treasure they score a candy bar. He gets hours of yard work for the price of a candy bar.

Haha, is that for real? I mean, I used to hate the people who gave out that crappy non-chocolate candy (unless it was Skittles or Starburst), but that's life. At some point you gotta learn that sometimes life hands you a Jolly Rancher instead of a full-size Snickers.
Looks like she copied it from some other community but appears to be real.

Glad I don't live by that toolface. I guess I'm far too pleb to live amongst such quality people anyway. Also Jolly Ranchers are awesome.

Most years, when we lived in CA, we just went out for dinner instead of feeding the terrorists. I was fine with handing out candy to the neighborhood kids... but when several of the local churches and community groups bussed in kids from the outlying areas...we stopped.
The last 7 years, we lived in a "senior citizens only" neighborhood...no trick-or-treaters ever. Now, we're on a street with a few kids scattered, but HOPEFULLY, the bears and coyotes will keep them at bay...

Figured this qualifies, my car died a while back... so I got a truck.

It will turn into a 3rd world problem when I realize how much it will cost to fill the tank though. I already put gas in it when it was at 3/4 full and it came up to 45 bucks lol.

Finally being able to get things like 4x8 sheets of material from Home Depot or even doing stuff like dump runs or getting backfill, or gravel or top soil or whatever is now going to be so much more convenient. I can confirm a 4x8 sheet of drywall fits perfectly.

Was not cheap though, came up to around 14k so I'll be paying that down for a little while. Took 7k of stocks out to help but I will pay down the rest over time. I put it on the credit line. Still way cheaper than buying new.

Normally I'd give you crap for buying a black vehicle, but you don't have the same problems with heat up there in the frozen north I have down here. There's no way I'd own a black vehicle here.

It's actually a darkish green, it's an interesting colour as it really depends on the light, in some pics it even looks brown. When buying used can't be too picky about stuff like colour though.

What engine? What year?

2009, V8... not sure the exacts like litres. I guess I should know that lol. But I know it's a V8. Truck is a 4x4 too, actually looking forward to winter to take advantage of that. I'll stick with the all terrain tires to see how it feels and decide if it's worth getting winter tires.

When the weather turns, drop a few hundred pounds of sand or something over the rear axle. You can thank me later.

Just remember...4x4 can help you go...but does NOTHING to help you stop.

annd do NOT EVER drive on dry paved roads in 4 wheel drive. Wet and rainy...OK. Snowy, sure, off-road, or on gravel, OK....Dry paved roads...NEVER For more than a few feet.
