Co-worker just told me there's A Quiet Place Part II and it's coming out March 2020! Trailer looks frickin brill:

AND we're supposedly off on-call at work (beginning the New Year) but I'm a bit skeptical of that; I'll believe it when the useless head of the department confirms it. But at least it should be in the works.

Yeah, me too. I must say that it kind of sucks for me, because they have one item still set for tomorrow.

I didn't wake up in a dirt field soaked in the blood of my entire family, friends and neighbors.

I am so thankful that I live in a place where war isn't a common everyday thing.

On a serious note...seriously. I work with some people from areas with Level 4 travel advisories & I just can't imagine living with that kind of stress on a regular basis. For all of our flaws, America is an incredibly unique country...we literally had the country split down the middle in the last election, and yet there were no crazy riots were thousands of people were killed or anything like that. Just reading the news about all of the difficult events going on overseas & south of our borders makes me feel incredibly grateful & lucky to live in this country, where most of my problems really are first-world problems...

Reached level 5 in Escape From Tarkov last night, WOOT. Now I can use the Flea Market feature and make a bit of money by selling shit. Only took me like 30-some total raids (11 of which were PMC) to reach level 5. LOL. Probably about everyone has no idea what that means but it basically means I'm total shit at the game. It's frickin brutal man what can I say!

Over New Years for several days they had a "drops" thing with Twitch, where if you watched Twitch streams of people playing the game (a bunch of streamers were part of the program), every so often you got free in-game items just for watching streams. I'd say it was a huge success; the game topped the Twitch charts for most watched game for multiple days. Insane for a relatively unknown game, but well deserved.

Got word from a recruiter I'm working with that a new place is interested in me and I have two phone interviews with them this afternoon. The job deals with RPA: robotic process automation, which is something I've never heard of and know nothing about, but they're ok with candidates not knowing anything and will teach the new employee the topic/skills. Otherwise it's a .NET dev job which is what I'm familiar with. Yay!

EDIT: A quick search shows RPA as referring to software bots, or AI, not actual physical R2D2 robots. Which is cool. I had an AI class in college and while it was neat, it was during the summer and I was more concerned with getting shit faced all the time so it was a rather difficult class. But I love learning new things so this sorta thing is right up my alley.

LOL. Thanks man.

Phone interviews went great. They want me for a face-to-face interview tomorrow, and the recruiter said they thought it would take around 3 hours. Holy poop. I once had an interview about that long or more, for a company in Madison, WI after I graduated (they flew me out there from MI) but I'm pretty sure I sucked horribly at that one. I'm not too worried about this one.

I think unless I really dick it up they'll have a job offer for me tomorrow. Brill

In-person interview went great. It indeed was around 3 hours; the first two were very informal, a bit about my experience and passions and the rest explaining what they do and what the position I'd be filling is all about. Sounds super interesting and it seems to be a really upcoming technology (RPA). Then took a one hour written test which I left several answers blank but he said he wasn't too worried about the test anyway.

Sounds like I should be expecting an offer maybe tomorrow. Hells yeah boys

I "fixed" my ghetto phone I use for internet access. I was having trouble with programs crashing for a year or so now. Since I really only use for the hotspot, I didn't look into it much. Turns out it was a bad sdcard. I removed it, and everything straightened up. I thought I was gonna have to get a new phone. I might anyway. I already have one I gave my mother, but she can't use a smartphone, so I may take it back. It's better than mine, but this one does what I need, and doing nothing is easier than doing something, so I haven't fooled with it.

I also upgraded my plan starting next billing cycle. It'll be $50 instead of $35, but that'll give me unlimited highspeed(with caveats of course), and 12gb highspeed hotspot data. I'm gonna see how that goes. Since the phone's unlimited, and it's always hooked to the computer, I'm thinking I can do downloads with the phone, transfer it to the computer, and do browsing with the hotspot. It'll be virtually unlimited then, and just take a bit more work.

Burned up my toaster oven last night. Went to biglots for cat litter today, and they had a 20% off everything sale, so I got a bigger toaster for $10 off.
