This academy sports gift card, $50, has been on the family computer desk for 2 years. My son's. He's been great handling his $ but gift cards...not so much. Doesn't use them, loses them or...on my computer desk.

Winchester 5.56 m855 62g 3060fps. Almost 4 boxes of 20 for free.

Yeah, I'll send him a pic of what his card bought. :asshole;

It's the little things that count. 20 years ago, I did a favor for a customer. I didn't remember it because, to me, it was even a small deal. She mentioned it today and how she appreciated it. Go figure.

Now, get the eff off my lawn.

First pleasure bike ride in the city with the Brompton. My local riding crew did a ride I wasn't into today, so took a solo spin.

A blast of a little bike. You can cruise on this thing; I was flying past people on the West side Greenway. Fun to navigate around the city in tight spots, the small wheels take off fast from a full stop. Steering is much more twitchy than a 700cc but just something to adapt to muscle memory..And the bike comes inside with you, nice and safe and also fits in transit like a charm.

One of my favorite bowls in the city, a cold mug Sapporo draft, and my trusty new foldy buddy

Got gas under $3 a gallon at Costco, so ran in and grabbed a 5lb rotisserie chicken on Monday and myself and the boys, the cat Noodles and doggo Mojo, all feasted on it. Total Costco shopping trip cost - under 6 bucks

The dung beetles have returned to our land after a three absence. Stuff was piling up.

Edwin McCain, Collective soul and Hootie.

E was good. The 2 Collective songs I knew plus cover songs...good. Had no clue what else they sang. Harder unknown rock in a venue ....nope. Hootie sang for 2 hrs. Old, new, cover like REM. Both bands had E join in. 7pm to 11. Tickets, plus fees $300 for 2 but the boss was happy.

And some drunk peeps. At $11/beer...how did they do that? The white bread boys in front of us thought they had rhythm and could dance......bwahahhaaaa.

Walking across the lawn and I stepped on something and felt a sharp pain. Leaned over and checked the bottom of the shoe. Pulled a short piece of twig out that had punched all the way though the sole.

Limped into the house to check the foot.

Just a small bruise, no penetration.

Still stings a bit but not bad.

Going on a 4 day bikepacking trip in upstate NY riding from Albany to Syracuse on the Erie Canal trail. My first multi-day bike trip and I am exceptionally psyched! And with a great group of local riders I hang with, so the company will be great too. No camping, we will airbnb or motel/hotel it. It's a beautiful trail that the state spent a lot of money to create, I think it's part of the Empire State trail where you can ride through 750 miles of NY state. We are doing about 186 miles.

Got the wood stove chimney through the soffit and got all the flashing done and stuff after procrastinating most of summer (was waiting for it to not be so bloody hot out) and I managed to find someone to come do a WETT inspection on Monday. Will leave the soffit open so they can look inside. Fingers crossed that it passes. My insurance doesn't require it and as far as they go, I'm all setup and could start using it any time, but if it causes a fire and turns out it's because of workmanship issues then it wouldn't be covered, so still best to get it done then I have something to prove it was well done.

Only thing I really have left to do is to add another section on top as it's not quite high enough. I was a bit worried about the roof bracing and trying to find a joist but inspector said it's fine to go through sheathing. My roof is due to be redone in next few years anyway so I'll just ask roofers to see if they can relocate the mount to a joist. Easier to find joists when the shingles are off.

But yeah it's great to be very close to being able to use the wood stove. Only been like 2 years since I bought it lol. I originally was trying to find someone to do the work for me but couldn't find anyone, so I was worried it would be the same deal with trying to find an inspector.

Edit: Decided to add the extra length and finish it up. Will feel better about the inspection that way. Was going to ask if it's tall enough as is but I felt it was not when looking at the rules.

Edit2: Just got a job offer from the secret services.

I had to make a delivery for my company today, 2 hours each way. So I started getting ready yesterday so I could clock in this morning at 7. Load the truck and haul ass out of town.
Everything in the world went wrong this morning. Couldn't leave until 750 and hit a storm and traffic jams. The radio died 10 minutes into the trip. Paperwork got wet and ruined and I lost the address of the company I was headed to (new phone weirdness).
Finally get back into town and park the company truck and as I am getting out I hear a loud dreadful hiss coming from the back tire....I took a look and it was 3/4 flat..If I had been on the road for a few more minutes I would have gotten stuck sitting for a few hours waiting for my company to sends someone to fix my tire.

The good thing that happened to me today is I get to make someone else deal with the flat tomorrow and didn't get stuck.. This made the whole ordeal seem not nearly as bad.
