I'm looking for a switch that will allow me to switch between two sets of keyboard/mouse....I know it exists, but I can't find one anywhere. The setup is....My office is in the corner of my living room...i'll have my wired keyboard and mouse at the desk...but my computer also seconds as a entertainment piece...so I'll be hooking it up to the TV. I want to be able to have a second, wireless keyboard/mouse that I can use while sitting on the couch to control this. I prefer USB but what what I've read they arn't that good...and advice/ideas? OH and I won't be using the switch for the monitor/TV, I'll just be using my video card for these..just want to be able to "turn off" one set of the keyboard/mouse when I'm using the other.

Just use them both. You don't have to turn off or turn on anything. Have both sets plugged in at once, and your machine will get the data off of whatever one you are using at the time. I have two mice plugged into this computer, and it doesn't care in the least.

The only thing I'd worry about with two live sets of input devices would be drivers. To get full use of most wireless input sets (special keys, etc.), a custom driver needs to be installed. If you are able/willing to settle with whatever the Msft generic kbd/mse drivers can provide, then you may be OK. But generally, the basic characteristics of mice can differ enough that different settings for tracking speed/acceleration will be needed for similar on-screen results as regards pointer movement.
. So you may have to set up a user name for a session for your wireless kit where the drivers for it can be isolated (but I'm not sure if drivers can even be installed so they function only in one User's session) or be willing to adjust the pointer travel settings when switching between input device sets. Perhaps you may consider using a remote control instead of a kbd/mse set as I'm fairly sure they operate a bit more independently.

Why can't you just plug all of them in like normal? I use a bunch of different input devices, and I haven't had any issues with having them connected simultaneously:

Razer mouse (has it's own third party app for controlling sensitivity/acceleration)
MS wireless MCE keyboard + trackball
Saitek Eclipse II
Saitek Cyborg Rumble
Nostromo n52
Ideazon Fang
Logitech joystick

Most of those devices have their own device profilers for configuration settings.

Exactly. You can have as many human interface devices on USB as you please, so just leave them all connected and use whichever you're close to.
