Reverse osmosis vs alkaline water

It's time to upgrade my water filtration and get something legit.

I know there are a lot of scam sites out there that use hyperinflated prices for their products which may or may not perform like the real thing.

That is why I am looking for any advice I can get from my fellow forum members in regards to this topic.

Reverse osmosis systems seem pretty affordable (can be had for only ~$100). From what I read alkaline water should not be taken in excess of 2 liters per day? As far as I know, alkaline water and an alkaline diet is something we all could use more of, since it has extremely potent antioxidant properties.

I am looking for recommendations on which system to buy.

Thank you for your valuable input.

Alkaline water is bullshit. Please don't be like my father-in-law and buy a several thousand dollar "Kangen" water machine. Such a fvcking scam.

I know this guy I met in south america, he is a a dealer for selling alkaline water machine. He claims how much he can get at least $1000 each system and then pyramid scheme pay structure.

This is just bs, if the company can pay out $1000 to the dealer to sell it, the machine doesn't really worth that much. he constantly tries to recruit me. I have better things to do

I also think alkaline (kangen) water is a marketing pyramid scheme based scam and I do not intend to drop a grand on it. However, there RO alkaline water systems that can be purchased for around the same price as a regular water filtration system (under $200). So I was wondering if any of those affordable systems are legit?

For instance:

Alkaline water? Water with baking soda in it?

Pretty much, except I am looking for the lazy man's slightly buffed version

Alkaline water is the latest snake oil and may even be bad for you.

"And if you drink alkaline water all the time, you’re going to raise the alkalinity of your stomach, which will buffer your stomach’s acidity and impair your ability to digest food, as low stomach acid is one of the most common causes of ulcers. This can open the door for parasites in your small intestine, and your protein digestion may suffer. It also means you’ll get less minerals and nutrients over time - in fact, some of these health effects can already be seen in hardcore alkaline water drinkers."

"Alkalinity is also potentially a problem because it is antibacterial, so it could potentially disrupt the balance of your body’s beneficial bacteria"

Could you give me a link to the RevO system? I tried googling it but came up short.... All the results I got were for sunglasses.

I used Brita for about a decade and still love and use my first Ultra Max. Except that I recently switched to up & up filters from target since they are more affordable and I go through them rather quickly at both home & office. Not much taste difference, if anything it tastes better than Brita, and they are slightly faster as well.

I have a PUR pitcher as well (which is also compatible with up & up filters) but PUR filters absolute garbage because after about a month of use, the filter speed slows down to a crawl, I refuse to fall for their marketing schemes.
