review of spyware removers?

where can I find a good review of spyware removal programs, including free and not free programs. I want the best and I'm willing to pay for it.

Quite impressed with the performace of the microsoft tool looks like a combination of it and one other should catch just about everything.

I use SpywareBlaster, but if anything actually gets in I remove it with Spybot & Adaware.

EDIT: Using Firefox is a big :thumbsup: too.

The main thing I'm trying to get rid of is pop-up ads. I have XP PRO SP2 and tried also installing Google Tool Bar, but still get these pop-up ads from Mediaclick.net. I have run PestPatrol, Ad-aware SE, SpySweeper, Microsoft Beta spyware remover, and SpyBot S&D. No luck. The only way I've found to eliminate them is by setting INTERNET security to HIGH and adding to SAFE sites, or to use a HOSTS file I found that has hundreds of entries. I'd am obsessing about getting to the source of this.

Get spywareblaster and firefox.

There is no "best antispyware tool" unfortunatly.... If you want total protection your going to have to use multiple programs to scan and protect.
SpySweeper is probably the best one overall. But its not free.

Use it in conjunction with Adaware SE and spybot Search&Destroy. Help prevent spyware by running a limited user account, using spywareblaster, windows update, a firewall, an antivirus, and common sense.

use all of these things in conjunction to generate "the best spyware remover and preventer"
