reviving my old pc

I have an old Asus P5GD1 laying around and wanted to try it out and see if it works. I have a P4 installed with a pci-e card. I put all these together on the table and turn it on. The board is receiving juice from the psu (hence the green led) and the fans are running, but I hear nothing. Aren't there supposed to be beeps or something?
I connected my speakers to it but still no sound.

Also, the heatsink is not warm nor the ram. So is the board busted?

power the system down and clear the BIOS. Was there anything on the screen?

Nothing on the screen, and I also cleared CMOS and took out the battery, nothing.
It's not in a case and not connected to a monitor, btw. But before that, it was connected to a screen and nothing came on.

what kind of power supply? Make sure all the power supply connectors are hooked up.

you may try clearing the bios for longer, this can help in a few cases.

If the board doesn't POST, very hard to diagnose and unlikely to get it fixed

I tried two different psu's and it's all the same.

I also took out the battery for an hour, but still didn't make a difference.

The green led of the mb turns on, so there must be electricity running thru the board, correct?

im guessing the board does not have onboard led diagnos?

I dont know what you mean by "led diagnos" but as I said before there's the green led that's lit telling it's getting juice from the psu.

opps typo

on some mb there were led's (4 or so) next to the usb (rear i/o) that will tell you the current stat that it is in, (you would need to also look it up in the user manual)
