For some unknown reason all electricity stops working. They show planes falling out of the sky so that was cool for the first 5 minutes. Then it jumps forward to 15 years later with a lame narrator.

Do they have an explanation why non-electrical things that rely on mechanical/chemical energy don't work? In other words, why don't people ride bicycles and shoot bullets?

I saw the preview during the Olympics and literally laughed out loud when I saw the lights gradually go out in skyscrapers from the ground up.

The premise could be interesting but it seems to have been dumbed down like most things on TV.

Checklist:
- Overly dramatic?
- Fit and attractive characters?
- Unnecessary tension between characters?
- Science is ignored?

What did you think of Mob Doctor overall?

Michael Rapaport is killed in the first episode so that's a good start!

I missed most of it so I will have to watch it again to get the full setup.

They did have guns, and they did work...they've just been outlawed, so the common man can't have them.

As to the rest of the show, the acting was pretty terrible and the plot needed a 2 hour pilot to flesh out. The problem is that a 2 hour pilot with the writing that they had would have been absolutely terrible and no one would have sat through the whole thing.

Seriously, network TV needs a "reality editor" to come through and rip all the bullshit out of scripts. What they showed this week could have probably been done in 22 minutes as far as actual story. The other 22 minutes of show were BS fluff like the death/crying scene that went on far too long and the ridiculous fight scene in the bar.

So, yeah, it was over-dramatized, the characters are relatively unbelievable, and the premise is an enigma. I will watch the 2nd episode to see if they bring any more light (hah) to the situation, but I doubt they will.

The acting and pacing was pretty bad. Reminds me of those amateurish God-awful soap operas.

This show will be pulled within two months.

I only watched because Giancarlo Esposito (Gus from Breaking Bad) was a bad guy on it, but I did not watch for long.

I'd be okay with some minor, sort of annoying things. But when the entire premise of a show is illogical, contradictory, and absurd... oh well.

Obviously you're going to have to suspend disbelief if you want to give a series like this a chance.

The acting wasn't very good and the fight scene was ridiculous, but I'll give it another episode.

The issue with what works vs what doesn't isn't just "electricity goes out", like the one guy was saying, something fundamentally changed in physics and nobody knows why/what/how, but it has caused (among other things) all electrical devices to stop working. One thing I didn't understand is why there wasn't any steam power being used, you'd think you could burn something to generate heat/steam, which could power some machines, kind of like during the industrial revolution.

I'll give it another episode.
