Obviously you're going to have to suspend disbelief if you want to give a series like this a chance.

The acting wasn't very good and the fight scene was ridiculous, but I'll give it another episode.

The issue with what works vs what doesn't isn't just "electricity goes out", like the one guy was saying, something fundamentally changed in physics and nobody knows why/what/how, but it has caused (among other things) all electrical devices to stop working. One thing I didn't understand is why there wasn't any steam power being used, you'd think you could burn something to generate heat/steam, which could power some machines, kind of like during the industrial revolution.

I'll give it another episode.

I'm pretty good at being able to suspend disbelief for movies or games. But even i had a hard time doing it for this show. Between the acting, plot holes etc.

the ending though was what really made me go WTF. a little charm had enough energy to power a computer? whaat?

i will watch the 2nd episode to give a chance. i really want this to be a good show to watch.

i stopped watching last night 30min in. it was awful. its like they went cheap on the actors and writers and all the money went into post processing.

complete garbage. story doesnt even make sense. basically, physics stops working partly and they are trying to find a way to restore that part of physics to the universe? wtf? such a dumb show.... oh and of course 1 guy takes out 20 armed men and a couple with guns. it wasnt even that good of a fight scene. i couldnt even watch the rest.

It's possible to overlook a lot of things on a show like this if the dialogue or story is otherwise well written, the characters are interesting, or if it's just plain fun entertainment, but so far this does not check any of those boxes.

The odd contradiction is that it seems like the pilot could've used another hour to really develop the story better, but I was already bored to hell halfway through as it was. For seemingly glossing over a lot of minutiae to fit this into an hour, nothing of major interest or consequence happened to really draw me in either. An hour of walking, a swordfight, and the
anticlimactic reveal at the end.

I'll give it another shot, but I'm not optimistic.

Actually a couple of well placed EMP bursts would pretty much cause almost everything dependent on transistors/microprocessors to stop working.

1. At the end, she chats with someone over an internet connection. So the phone lines have been maintained for 15 years? The power amulet is able to power her computer and every needed energy source between her and the person she is chatting with?

2. Fat guy. 15 years since the loss of electricity and mass food production based on electricity, people are living in tiny villages with even smaller farms, and this guy is fat.

3. If it were only the loss of electrical machines, wouldn't society go back to approximately 1800's style of living? In this show, we're pretty much back to the middle ages.

4. Spy boy doesn't kill crossbow-girl after they shared such a deep connection as must have occurred off camera in the first episode.

5. Everyone (except fat guy) is fit and has muscles, despite food supplies probably being very tight.

6. Everyone has perfect hair and brand new clothing, except fat guy

7. Acting was really bad

8. As equipment fails in the beginning, it struggles, sputters, and gradually goes out. You know, for dramatic effect.

I haven't seen Hunger Games but from what I know of it, my guess is that some executive said, "Hunger Games is making tons of money! Quick, make a show that puts people in a similar setting so we can cash in on that trend!"

So the fat guy never "LOST" weight? Hrm..sounds like he had the same weight issues he couldn't "LOST" in another show by JJ Abrams...

I've only watched the previews during commercials and didn't really like it. The premise is a good idea - but the actors are too "pretty" to be believable [same reason why I didn't like pretty boy Pierce Brosnan as James Bond]. I would think if the world suddenly lost "electricity" it would plunge into the same type of world in the movie "The Road"...

9. Physics changed and we don't know why or how! Just before it changed, we were able to create these pendents that will work with the new state of physics, but we don't know what that new state of physics will be.

If you're watching a new show where stuff just doesn't make any sense and it's from JJ Abrams, don't count on any explanations if you continue to watch.

I watched it to give it a shot, and ya, similar complaints. It's watchable, but nothing I'd tell everything to run to watch weekly.

It looks Vancouver filmed and the production looks cheap and non-cable. Reminds me of the "Lost World" (?) show with Dinosaurs in terms of look and feel.

So, story-wise... why do people have muskets and 1800s-era rifles? The catastrophic incident is just the power going out... where are the assault rifles?

And ha, I didn't pick up on the Hunger Games thing. Probably trying to cash in on that. I thought the main female (young one) was the same girl from that Fox dinosaur show, but it's not. She's hot and has a jacket like Jennifer Lawrence's.

the girls are def hot, especially the main character one. but the show is so bad its like, who cares. i actually think she did a decent job in the first episode too, you can tell shes really trying to do a good acting job but again, these actors are low budget- its obvious.

An airliner would not just fall out of the sky. The hydraulic backup systems are purely mechanical, and the plane could glide a long way, still have reasonable control, and still be able to get the gear down.

If it crashed, it would be while trying to glide in somewhere.

if the pilots are well trained, yeah. but the engines would probably shut down due to severe computer error, and that would mean the pilots have to actually fly the plane which is something we are noticing that many new pilots cant. they are trained in simulators and fly with assisted control, they are hardly pilots anymore.
