watch the movie ronin and tell me why that movie is so much different then most like it.
...what? No my friend, The 5th Element was terrible.. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy was terrible.. Starship Troopers 2 was terrible.. Ronin was epic.
so why don't you tell me why ronin is so great? i saw it awhile back but don't remember it being anything more impressive than other movies like it.
i honestly don't see whats so great about other shows compared to this one.

well i didnt come up with it off the top of my head! it was on a nova program. experts were saying that training is not like it used to be, and there is a distinct connection lost with the new pilots, and simulator training was a direct problem (all simulator time, no real world experiences of trouble). that french flight that crashed was a mechanical failure, but if the pilots were properly trained they wouldnt have crashed. im just relaying what i saw on a documentary, maybe its completely wrong but it seemed to make sense to me.

The pitot tubes iced over for less than a minute in a small area of severe weather.
Occasionally, icing is so severe, that the pitot tube heaters are overwhelmed.
That's all that happened to AF447 prior to the piloting errors.

um.. other shows like what? other broadcast shows? yeah, its not any worse, but it is horrible. but other network shows, like ones on amc or showtime or hbo? come on man...

ronin was fucking awesome! all the car chases looked absolutely real. no cgi in that movie. LOTS of professional driving. and most of the gun fights looked realistic too. even today there isnt many action flicks that dont overdo it.... ronin was spot on in many ways.

i dont know what else call it. but my point still stands, once the ice blocked the airspeed sensors the whole computer system went nuts. and they DO train for that situation, but like i said they obviously didnt train enough for it and/or the pilots were just weak at best.
