I haven't seen ep3 yet, but the second episode had a scene that was so retarded I'm not sure if I can keep watching. So, this girl has a bow and is a good shot. But their best plan for killing the guy with the sniper rifle was for her to walk up to him in broad daylight with a point-blank range homemade gun and shoot him while standing in the middle of a pack of armed guards. WHAT. THE. F*CK?????
I just read that Revolution got the go ahead for a full season.

They do this crap by spending all their budget on special effects in the first minutes of a pilot episode to hook in sci fi fans then the premise switches to one that needs no special effects.
Continuum did that, they are in the future, go back to present day then are stuck.
Even Star Trek would do that. They start off a season with a few good episodes will of effects, then they go to the holideck and fight nazi's or go back to sherlock holmes days etc. Then for the cliff hanger episode at the end of the season, Borg show up with CGI in tow.

Actually a couple of well placed EMP bursts would pretty much cause almost everything dependent on transistors/microprocessors to stop working.

Actually no EMP does not do that. EMP only imparts voltage proportional to the length of the conductor. An EMP might short out the connection point of an Ethernet cord or power cord but it would have no effect on microelectronics like processors & motherboards. A laptops and other portable electronics would be pretty much immune, as would anything that is correctly shielded and protected.
The muskets and swords are totally pissing me off.
(1) There are so many guns and so much ammo laying around this country.
(2) Reloading conventional ammo is not complicated, and requires no electricity. Clearly, they have powder and the ability to cast projectiles because they're using muskets!
(3) How was it easier to find muskets to arm a militia but they can't find conventional ammo?
I was far more impressed by 666 Park Avenue's pilot.

There would be tons of guns lying around. Even if most of the ammo got used, if they can make percussion caps and black powder for their muzzle loaders, they could make brass cartridges. The brass is even reusable, they wouldn't even have to make more. Cartridges were invented before they use of electricity.
