RF Modulator

Does anyone know if an RF modulator could be used with the video output that is on the back of a U-verse cable box?
Another question would be, if the HDMI output is being used, will there also be a signal coming out of the video output?
The old game machines had an RF modulator that could be set for VHF channels 3 or 4.
My problem is a mix of TVs.
I am considering getting the dish network HD system or U-verse. Any comment about which to choose would be helpful.

why is remodulation easier than splitting the signal to multiple inputs?

The signal from the U-verse cable box is digital and the RF has to be added to it with a RF modulator. Then my old sets will be able to display a picture and sound.
The old game machines only had a digital signal so they needed to have a modulator.
My system works well now because one of the the outputs from my sat box is UHF channel 21. I now split that signal 3 ways.

I have the dish network vip722 receiver and it has two tuners that can be setup for two different tv.
One has the hdmi/component, the second is RF.
There is a coax connector on the back that you connect to other tv in the house.
You can set the uhf channel to what you want, I use 73.
The box also comes with two remotes.
One is IR, the second uhf, so it works anywhere in the house.

You can set the box to playback/record two different channels or to display the same on all sets. Its really a nice setup.
