I have extreme OCD right trying to decide which output I should use for my 4k HDTV.
In the Nvidia options I have RGB and several ycbcr outputs (I know 4:4:4 is the one to use). However, my eyes are telling me the RGB output is slighter richer in color quality, though I can't really "prove" this. And sometimes when I use RGB for a while and select ycbcr 444, I think it might have the better color output. I am using Witcher 3 for reference. I'm at the point where I'm going nuts trying to decide between the two.
Is it all in my mind? Is one preferable over another? After every driver update the output always defaults to RGB, but I thought you needed to use ycbcr444 for HDMI output (my HDTV supports 4:4:4 chroma). Hence that is what I've been using for a while. But whenever I switch to RGB for testing purposes, my mind is telling me the color is somewhat richer..but I think its just me, because both outputs are good and have excellent gradients (compared to 4:2:2).
Am I going crazy over nothing?
For reference, I have GTX 1080s and HDMI Deep Color enabled on the HDMI 2.0 port my PC is connected to.
