I bought a set of RhinoRamps and they arrived today. Damn they seem super thin and light to hold up to 12000 lbs! paid $40 off Amazon with prime shipping.

I needed a set as I didn't have any and always went over to my parent's house to use my dad's ramps.

What do you guys think of these?

It says to use only on hard level surface. I have a loose stone/dirt driveway, will that be an issue?

advance auto has them for 40 also. find a coupon and I'm sure you could be out the door cheaper.

I've used a the same set of Rhino Ramps for years without problems. Work fine on most any hard surface. And I'm pretty sure your driveway is hard packed enough from vehicles driving up and down on it so that the ramps won't "sink" into the earth. Wouldn't try them on loose sand, but gravel/dirt driveway....been there, done that.

And like KK said, you can almost always find them on sale from Advance Auto, given that store's propensity for giving discounts/coupons on their front page, not to mention the ease you can find some of their coupon codes online. Order online, pick up in store.

Mine have no trouble holding up my 2008 Grand Cherokee. No problems on a gravel driveway.

Built my own ramps with 2x10s. Way better than rhino ramps and I spent less than $40

Needed a ramp to work on my Vette so I used scrap wood from my house construction. It's over 20 years old and can support an M1 tank.

You often have to improvise with a car that is close to the ground.

That's no problem with the Jeep.

Or if you're a baller (like me) you buy these:

http://www.raceramps.com/2-piece-56-inch-car-service-ramps.aspx

Much better than Rhino ramps IMHO and easier to store than wood ones as my garage is space limited.

word. worth every penny.

i tried rhino ramps and the only car i had that was high enough to clear them couldnt get up the ramps without the ramp scooting across the floor. immediately went back to the store. have used the race ramps on 5 different cars now. makes oil changes a breeze.

Even the gfs scion xa scrapes on my rhino ramps. They work fine for the Forester but the Viper is a lost cause.

I haven't been able to justify race ramps yet but one of these days...

I got mine from Advanced Auto Parts for $40 also. Auto Zone was $45 and Oriley's was $50; don't remember what Amazon had it for.

I like them, I needed them for the car, Dodge Avenger and previous vehicles were pickups, to change oil and oil filter.

I like that they stack and don't really take up too much space in my garage.

Mine only going to be used for my saturn l300 (sedan) for oil changes and maybe for the lawn mower.

Yeah I couldn't get my old 91 dropped integra up Rhino Ramps either... too low. The 2011 Grand Cherokee however, no problem!

They work. I've had a set for about 10 years, used for doing oil changes on my Forester.

creative and nice but the storage yikes?

You just stand them up along the wall of your garage. They take up less room than a folding ladder. You can also just keep them laying flat, nested one on top of the other along the wall and store crap on top of them. I have 4 cars and an SUV in my family that I take care of so these get way more use than you might think.

I guess if you clasp the ramp together and lay it against the wall it should work well instead of standing it vertically and risk of falling onto the car. I like it I might copy it. OP this is good one to copy I think.

All you need a simple cord attached to wall to prevent the ramp from falling over. How hard is that?
