I wonder what my slow 20x burner has the "equivalent output" of? Stupid RIAA and their equivalent output ratings. Oh and merry christmas eve.

Lack of reading skills and a knee-jerk, canned response to anything with the word RIAA in the title?

We have a winner.

$200/burner is horribly low. I mean come on, that's only $2000 if you manage to nab a 10-burner op. And a max of $10K? Sheesh.

There's way more money in the private sector. I'll stay here.

Do I get more money if some of the burners are fast? For example if one is a 40x burner does it count as 2 cd burners?

Uh-oh, time to pawn number 11 and 12.

I think you should go down to 9 for good measure.

Don't forget, one 32x burner is the equivilent of 4 "average" burners.

Understanding, blech, who cares, all we know is that we don't like the RIAA!

If the above conditions are met, you will be considered for a reward up to $2,000.
Each additional burner above the minimum of ten burners will increase the potential
reward by $200 for each CD burner up to a maximum of $10,000.

Read carefully how it's worded. To meet the "above conditions", there must be a minimum of ten CD recorders. By other equipment, they mean automatic disc transporter or illegal CD press factory. It also doesn't state you will get $2,000. It says UP TO $2000 and second clause adds $200/burner for excess burners.

If you turn in a factory with 12 burners, you might only get $500. The first condition doesn't make indication of minimum pay out and $100 is still within the definition of "up to $2000" and you might only get $100. $100 and $400 for two burners in excess of 10 adds up to $500.

What a cheapass bastard they're. You're too optimistic if you think you'll get the maximum amount stated in a "up to" statement. Even if you get the maximum amount, it is not worth the publicity and effort it takes to gain merely $2000/case + $200 per additional burner.

I might jump on it if it included a greater and more subjective reward amount such as 10% of their collection from a civil suit filed against someone who was taken to court based on your leading information.

The RIAA can try to cling to their increasingly obsolete business model all they want, but they will either be forced to change with the times, or they will cease to exist. I am betting on the latter option.
