This doesnt sound like a sanctioned hunt. He bribed some guards to let them kill a lion. Then they did the most cowardly thing possible. Baited it with a dead animal. This pussy didnt even have the balls to sit in the bush for hours or days stalking his kill.

He didn't have permission to hunt in the park. They lured him out in order to pretend that it was legal. I think the local poachers had a permit for hunting outside the preserve.

These kind of 'hunters' make me sick. I'm all for hunting to cull herds and for food. Hunting endangered animals for trophies is the lowest form of disgusting. It's only more disgusting because he is a terrible hunter and was unable to even properly kill the animal.

Srsly. Isn't using the right weapon and hitting the right spot to kill the animal ASAP a pretty big thing in hunting? Letting your prey bleed for 40 hours is a pretty big no-no in hunting terms, right?

It says he paid some local guides to secure hunting permits, but the local guides took the lion (which is collared) out of the park illegally, which got shot by this ignorant hunter who thought everything was in order. Not like he just waltzed in and arrowed the lion. The guy's a big game hunter, and regardless of whether you agree with killing big magnificent animals, it looks like he did everything by the books and obeyed the country's law.

Also I believe north african white rhinos are the ones that are already extinct/endangered, not sure about south african ones but I'm sure they're endangered.
