1. Speeddemon is right. An axe in the hands of a small female is hardly a weapon. You get one swing. It has to be moving fairly fast to have much of an effect. Once it's moving that fast, you're committed to finishing the swing. Dodge the first (and only) swing, and move in quickly.

Anyway, I'm not weeding through 750 posts in this thread. Would one of you nimrods be kind enough to stop your idiotic arguing over plot holes for a moment, and suggest whether it's worth seeing this at the drive-in? (Along with TED) Or should I wait to rent it?

I'd want to watch it in 3d in a nice theater as the characters are weak and so is the plot, but the visuals are top notch. It might be fun to see it in a drive in with other people so you could make fun of it while you watch it though.

I think one of the reasons there is so much hate for this movie is partially because the first 10 mins are so good. The visuals are as good as it gets, and the opening makes it seem like you are about to witness a great story and mystery unfold.

Our friends in this thread are also forgetting that the Engineer shrugged off a shotgun blast when he ripped David's head off. An axe would tickle him, even if she could get a swing off before he closed the distance.

PS: May go see this again tonight in IMAX 3D, a friend who hasn't seen it wants to go. Also, did you know Avengers is still in theaters? Talk about cash cow.

I would think a tigers-blood infused Adonis like yourself would be too busy fighting supervillians to bother re-watching a crappy movie.

I went to see it a second time so I could do this; the Sunday last-showing 'crowd' was cracking up

I don't really know you or your tastes in movies, but I'd give it a try. I enjoyed it, but I didn't go into it with lofty expectations or anything.

I'll be seeing Ted on Sunday. Last I checked, it had a 66% on RT, which isn't too bad. I saw that Magic Mike was a comedy and had over an 80%... then I watched the trailer. D:

that doesn't make any sense either. the energy released by the hiroshima bomb is equivalent to about 1 gram of matter - these things gain hundreds of pounds in an hour.

Keep in mind this is sci-fi. Certain element you're going to have to suspend your disbelief.

It's not that far fetch to me. I look at the weeds in my backyard. It's unbelievable how fast they've taken over my lawn. A little bit of rain and sunshine and I'm up to my neck with them.

Is anything worth seeing at the drive in?

It's not a great movie and the biggest draws are the very nice visuals and decent sound, which could possibly be somewhat wasted in the environment of a drive-in.

Experience it in a digital 3D theatre (or IMAX,) or not at all, IMO.

Very true, this warlock has to train for the octagon but I will be taking a lovely lady to see it tonight. Luckily, only you guys can decipher the movie with your Anandetta Stones and she will be so enthralled and confused that she will want to give me some tigress blood in exchange for an explanation. I'll impress her with my Anandetta Stone sage knowledge that the movie could, in fact, be explained by a space jesus.

I went and saw the 3D version last night. Lotta plot holes, but overall I thought it was ok, especially the visuals. This fucking movie just confirms for the infinite time that white women love black cock.

That just leads to a "Your Mom" joke...

Drive in's rock. Sneaking groups of people in, keg in trunk for other people, etc. Not a lot of movie watching though.

As I said, you don't go for the watching.

What amazes me is the number of people hating on it that have seen it more than once. I actually liked it, but didn't go twice ;p

It was even better the 2nd time. Also, the Engineer was shot twice by the security guard, not once. He shrugged it off and roared that he could kill Dr. Shaw with his pinky finger.
