Well lose 8 straight 2 years in a row and that's it.

My Question is who then. They say Turner isn't going to be considered. Will they bring Pascale Back? Dreading next week I hate uncertainty.

They let go everyone Except Norv Turner. I really don't hink the losing was rileys fault with the Lack of an offensive Line however Butler wanted his own guy so let's see.

Riley was cheerful and upbeat and as always all class.

Truely one of the good guys in sports .... My heart went out for him as I watched the kick curve back into the uprights!

Well I'm sorry to say it, but it should have been done last year. He's a good guy and all that, but he just can't motivate a team. That's been evidenced time and time again by blowing leads late in the fourth quarter. The Chargers may be 5-10, but they could easily have 3 or 4 more wins if they had a coach that could light a fire under them.


So the big question is who. Ted Cottrell's name has been thrown about as the frontrunner, as well as Wade Phillips (I hate this guy). Honestly, anybody at this point would be better than Riley, and as long as John Butler goes ahead and revamps the offensive line (Stone and Fabini will be signed) and Drew Brees is starting next year, the Chargers should be in good shape to do some damage in the AFC. They can be like the Steelers are this year, easily.

well, at least they gave Riley a chance after last years deplorable season. personally i think they should give him one more year, give him more to work with. i mean c'mon...a 38 yo QB? a semi patched to gether secondary(which isn't THAT bad)...we finally have decent RB, the Dl is looking better. we still need a better OL. maybe another LB to help Junior. let Riley mold Brees into the All-Pro QB that's in him.
Norv Turner as a head coach. c'mon he showed in Washington that he couldn't do it, he's a much much much better O Coord than a head coach.

Riley had talent to work with this year, believe it or not. The offensive line is bad, but they still played well enough to put us in position to win games. There were at least two games that we lost due to poor coaching. He's had enough chances, he simply isn't man enough to coach in the NFL.


I don't think Norv Turner is the answer either. He'll most likely be gone, and I have no problems with that. They're talking about bringing in Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson, which sounds appealing.

As far as next year goes, there are gonna be some changes, that's for sure. But when it's all said and done, the team should be much better talent-wise and in a prime position to make a playoff run. The main deal will be the improvement of the offensive line. Give Tomlinson a good o-line and watch him rush for 2,000 yards, I'm not joking, this guy is gonna be one of the best ever. They should also look at getting another good WR as well as one more good, dependable corner. Quentin Jammer via the draft...hmm sounds good to me. But as long as Brees is starting, we should be good to go.

The UT did a poll a few years ago where they asked which Unis should the chargers wear? The Baby blues won handly, when quested Dean Spanos said something about they needed to get past the past and these were THE SPANO"S Charger and they would not wear the BB's

Good, I can breathe easy now. This is the first step in the right direction. Now if we can get some mean, tough SOB to coach here, as well as address the OL and CBs, we can make a run next year.

Watched the whole game. Yes Harrison is the man (see my tm37). I just wish Seau still hit like that. I like Beckett and Mcneal as well. Cody should be strong next year. The DL was hurt by injuries and that should be a bright spot. I don't like dixon I'd like to see a young backer there and OL OL OL OL OL OL OL Got the OL was horrible this year. I can't wait for next year. The chargers should pick no later than 8th in the draft. I really hope Butler get the rright guy. I still miss Ross.
