we got this software because our old BB enterprise servers didn't support droid and IOS, MS. ive had it in production for just about 5 years. as of yesterday i have just about 700 devices on it and last week shut down our ancient ass blackberry server. we are officially done with them.

GOOD technology is pretty decent. i have it running on a little VM and have had zero issues with it. most of the time my exchange email shows up on my phone before it shows up in outlook.

So your failure to upgrade the BB Enterprise software is their fault Sounds like you are just behind the times since they support ALL PHONES

I take issue with your pompous bullshit reply. upgrade to what you dumb fuck another version of BB enterprise that did not support other platforms? yea that makes perfect fucking sense you prick. At that time BB did not support other platforms and by the time they did most of our users (on their own) dumped BB and switched to droid or IOS. its not our fault BB did not keep up with the times they are the ones who put up the walls and forced us to find other solutions for their failures.

I'm SO SORRY to offend you

Not really...but I did miss the 5 years ago part, so my bad on that. Though I've said many times that BB failed to see that consumers were the growing market, and they wanted toys, they have finally figured it out though and many people just don't know they can get their "toy" fix and a much better communication device all in the same package. And they even have a comprehensive management suite to go along with it, no devices excluded. And really if you haven't seen or used one in forever, you don't know what you are talking about. I have seen and used pretty much every other device, and the modern BB is equal or superior in almost every way.

Mobile Iron won't be an issue much longer. Sadly, the CEO isn't being honest about the situation. Either he has blinders on or he is basically lying to the public (investors and analysts). Either way, that is good for BBRY. If Mobile Iron's CEO was honest, I'd show some concern.

And any Good technology IPO will be in the crapper now.

BBRY ezpass for short term pain and long term gain! Yup, the monetization of BES is 10/12 is going to be quite nice.

I LOVE BLACKBERRY BLEND (Windows App)!

Just needed to drop a movie onto my phone. So I fired up Blend. Went to file manager. Selected my SD Card and dropped the file onto my phone.

While there, I cleaned up all my e-mail accounts of crap and texted a friend.

What's even more amazing, my phone could be in China and this would all work.

Random poster on Crackberry forums:

A little background..... I'm a tech lover. I have owned, or tried every phone, tablet, or watch that has come out in the last 5 years. Before that, I go as far back as the Newton Message Pad and Sony Magic Cap days.

Before 6 days ago, I was running an iPhone 6 Plus. Picked the 6 Plus up on launch day in September of 2014. 7 months for one phone for me is a record. So I was pretty happy with the 6 Plus. Better than any previous iPhone, better than Windows Phone, and better than the Note 4.

So a week ago my friend tells me he ran into his relative from Chicago. First thing he tells me is this guy had the new Blackberry Passport, and it was "sweet". I continued to ask questions. The biggest thing I took from the conversation is my friend said "Blackberry is back, you have to try one" So the next day, I'm at AT&T buying one.

I'm a business professional, not a big time gamer, or someone who has 1000 useless apps on my phone. I am a heavy email and text guy. I use about 10 key apps, all of which are available via BB.

A few thoughts after 6 days:

Size: The form factor is unique, and creative. Someone is thinking outside of the box again, and not just making rectangles. The phone is thin, and slides into my pockets every time. I love the wide viewing angle of the screen. It's wonderful for the internet, reading emails, reviewing calendars, etc.. Since I have had the Passport, I find myself browsing with my Passport, not a tablet.

Keyboard: Toughest thing for me to overcome was the physical keys. I hadn't had any physical keys since my BB Bold. When I first tried the keyboard, my first thought was, "this is going back, there is no way I will learn this keyboard". 6 Days in, I am not perfect yet on the keyboard, but I am fast. How about the touch sensitive keyboard. WOW. Impressive, and so useful once you use it for a few days. I also love using the keyboard for searches, and the BB search abilities are the best of any smart phone.

Battery Life: My typical day runs from 4am to 10pm. Phone calls, texts, 3 email accounts and browsing all day and I am lucky if I can get the battery to drop below 40%. That's with the screen brightness at 80% to 100%. Impressive

Screen: It's big, it's PPI is 453!! It's crystal clear. It's view-able in day light too. Very simply, Nice!

Speakers: I'm a speaker phone guy. Loud and Clear, great sound, easy to hear people on the other end without straining your ears.

BB-10os: It's hard to find negativity with the OS. Again, it's creative. It's fluid. It's fast.

I guess my biggest disappointment is that Blackberry doesn't advertise this thing. In my mind, I think it's the best smart phone I have used.
I mean, I guess anyone could certainly argue this isn't the #1 smartphone in the world. But it's a top 5 phone, without a doubt. Blackberry is missing the boat by not advertising this. I am shocked.

My biggest decision is whether to stick with the AT&T version or buy a Red Unlocked Version.

JOHN

I want one for the same reasons really. Just can't make the leap of faith since I am a runner.

Lots of Android phones have FM radio. I read an article just yesterday about the broadcasters forming a group to promote more flagship phones having the feature (they already have the chips to support it).

Horbal glorb gorball?!

Waste of RF engineering if you ask me. iTunes Match for access to my whole library without synching. Also unlimited ad-free iTunes Radio (which I never use).

FM antenna goes in the headphones wires, which I never use.

This thread devolves every time it gets resurrected. It's like a zombie that loses 13 pounds of flesh when it is reanimated.

Blackberry laid off people again:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/bla...cified-number-of-employees-globally-1.3085232

"Unspecified" number. Not good news for Canada considering it's non-stop layoffs here. Oh, but shacks are worth $1 million in Toronto and Vancouver.

They are outsourcing hardware design. Some think the coming slider is going to be done by Samsung. Possibly a partnership that will land bb10 phones next to android phones in stores. . The layoffs are confirming my bias. I expect hardware jobs to fade away at blackberry.

Is RIM [Blackberry] rumored to be working on a electric car or self-driving car?

I want my Blackberry Time(tm) wristwatch.

BlackBerry could quit hardware as early as next year

http://www.engadget.com/2015/10/08/blackberry-could-shut-down-hardware-division-if-not-profitable-b/

Even though he says that BlackBerry's hardware business is in a make-or-break phase, he is confident that it'll succeed. "Android in the enterprise is a very underserved space," he said. "With our connections, our accounts, our security knowhow, this has expanded our market." He also isn't ready to give up on BB10, which he says is even more secure. Indeed, he says there'll be two new BB10 releases coming up. As for new BB10 devices, that "will be dictated by market needs." He said that BlackBerry is still widely used in government and other arenas that require higher security. "The market wants privacy and security, and they also want apps," he said about the Priv's marketability.
