It is well worth the money at full price. Unless you really cannot afford it or have too many great games to play, stick your hand in your wallet and buy.

It's still classed as an Alpha as the Dev is still adding content but each content update feels like it is done in a stable, near-bug free and coherent manner. As paperfist states some features do need to be balanced or fleshed out but in the meantime the modding community is pretty substantial with some solid additions to keep the game fresh.

No two starts are the same, even if some aspects are similar.

Because your number of colonists starts low you tend to get emotionally attached to them as individuals and their skills may be irreplaceable if they die.

I've been pretty addicted. Lots of early hours invested most trying to figure things out.

It's an interesting 'builder' type game that has some 'emotional' drama attached to it with the way colonist interact with each other. You really have to take into consideration who you let in and at least for me it's complicated by not many options to get people to join.

It's got random events that can be harrowing at times. lol I never thought a beaver attack could be so stressful. The free form build style is neat and lets you layout things in different manners trying to find the most efficient methods.

I haven't encountered any bugs yet, but some of the systems need to be balanced and fleshed out.

Sounds pretty good. Thanks for the details - it seems to be the type of game I was looking for.

Probably pull the trigger on it but wait to see if it goes on sale this coming Black Friday / Cyber Monday as an added bonus.

I do wonder if it will play well on my Surface 3. Looks like the type of game that should.

For the record you don't need hydroponic tables unless you are on ice sheet or desert. You can build buildings the size of a sun lamp over soil and put a heater in there and you have year round crop production.

Does it matter if you have a roof over it? I didn't know about the heater, thanks!

Just wish you could hydro Devilstrand. Stuff takes eons to grow.

You have to have a roof over it. Or you won't keep the heat.

Also if the power goes out and its really cold out put a fire in the room. The plants won't grow without light but it would have to be an amazingly long outrage to kill them. They live through eclipses and those can last a couple days.
