Sonicblue has released a new power adapter that fixes a problem with the old one such that it can damamge your Rio 800. They are shipping them out to existing Rio 800 owners for free.

Unfourtunately, they don't have any sort of ETA on when they will be arriving. Has anybody gone through this and remember about how long it took to get the new part?
