Rio Nitrus 1.5 GB MP3 Player $79 at Wal-mart YMMV

Just picked up a clearance Rio Nitrus MP3 player with 1.5 GB hard drive, 16 hour battery, USB 2.0 interface for $79 at a North Alabama Super Wal-mart. It was red tagged on a shelf with other mp3 players and mp3 compatible portable cd players (priced $17 to $25). The Nitrus retails for $199 and is normally over $100 on ebay. I found it at online retailers for up to $169.

I didn't really need it but impulse took over. I got the last one at the store I was in so YMMV. Good Luck.

well i've been to my 2 nearest stores, and couldn't find them there, but i've never actually seen either store sell that mp3 player at the usual price before.

I like the price, too, but I've heard that these mini HD MP3 players are no good for impact exercisers (runners, etc) because the heads crash on most including the 4gb Hitachi drives. Anyone have exercising experience with these vs. the solid state/flash memory variety, including mtn biking? Really, I have a CD-RW reading MP3 Sony that will suffice for most listening modes of MP3. I'm tempted for these multi-gig tiny players constantly, but if they can't stand shock, I might just stick with MP3 CD-RWs until something more rugged appears.

this thing is pretty solid, i can shake it and it won't skip. ive been trying to sell one tho because i havnt really been using it (check my FS thread).
