But you are not to blame for your ignorance. Its ridiculous to blame someone for not being something they are not.

Yes, you are to blame for your ignorance. Ever heard of personal responsibility? If you want to know about it, I can explain it.

even shit like that, i do not understand what they are trying to accomplish. all they are doing is pissing off hundreds of people who have nothing to do with what happened. and if they did that to me, no matter what they were protesting, i'd probably take the opposite stance just because they pissed me off.
Hundreds? That's thousands, they were on the freeway here in LA so they are blocking traffic for millions of people because their cause is more important than anything else in the world.

You must believe in humans having souls, right? Do you think that's the case? You must. Otherwise you would be a little more intelligent with your outlook.
Try this instead. People are animals, just like bears and sharks and everything else. Science tells you this is the case, so don't go being willfully ignorant on me, please.
If a shark attacks a person, do you "blame" the shark? If a bear attacks a person, do you "blame" the bear? Only an idiot would. They were just being the creature they are.
The people you claim who are willfully ignorant are only doing what people do who find themselves in their particular culture and situation. Have some fucking compassion. Its not their fault. Yes, they are wrong and ignorant, but you would be too in their shoes, unless you think you are somehow superior in a fundamental way.

You're bending over backward to make excuses for people and claim there's no reason for them to deserve resentment and punishment. I grew up poor and everyone else I grew up with turned into criminal hoodlums. I did not. :hmm:

Maybe my brain chemistry was different, maybe there's no such thing as free will.

You know what? If I was a shit-head asshole, even if it was no fault of my own, I expect to be treated like a shit-head asshole. Getting treated like a shit-head asshole just might make me behave differently.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

For those parroting the lie that "only a tiny fraction" of protesters were violent...

Well, the leaked videos don't agree with you.

Yup, lots of "peaceful" protesting:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDLpiEWlFZ0#t=44

Yeah, the crowd was pretty fired up even before the verdict. Here is another video from that same guy that shows the reaction just following it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWTk42TpkUQ

When the basic overtone is "Fuck the police" it gets to a point that it doesn't matter how the cops handle it, it's going to escalate. I'm so sick of hearing people saying that the protests turn violent because of how the police handle the crowds. How can anyone say that when you have videos showing that people were throwing bottles and rocks at the cops, breaking down barriers and trying to tip over cop cars? This all occurred before there was any reaction from the police, and was in the area where supposedly the "peaceful" protesters were gathered.

It doesn't matter though, there are always excuses that will be made. They may be laughable excuses, but many of these people are lower class uneducated people and they probably don't have a high level of reasoning or tolerance to begin with, so it makes sense. I just blame the media for having to be right in the thick of it interviewing people committing criminal acts, and getting them to tell their ridiculous sides of the story (their excuses for their behavior). In a way it gives them a false sense of meaning, lets them think that their opinions are being heard, when realistically majority of the viewers are sitting back and laughing at them.

Here is where it gets delicate. Think about what you said. They had the facts, but refused to acknowledge them. If that's the case, they are not ignorant, instead they are rebellious.
Alternatively, lets say the facts were presented to them and they did not believe those facts, is it their choice to believe or not believe? I say its not their choice to believe something their minds will not accept. Something in their heads prompted them to reject the truth. It is not a choice. If it was a choice, then they know the truth but act rebelliously.
If they are ignorant, its not their fault.
If they are not ignorant, but rebel, its not their fault for feeling what they feel. In their minds, they are justified. That's what they believe and there are reasons for those beliefs that are beyond their control.
I do not believe the God my family worships is real. That is not my choice to believe, although many people like to think it is. I have no ability to control my beliefs. They are formed.

Quoted for facepalm.

Yeah it makes sense that if you act a certain way you'll get treated a certain way. What doesn't make sense is the following:

Hate
Retribution
Blame

You don't get it. Of course you wouldn't hire those people. Neither would I. You also wouldn't have a bear as a pet. Do you blame the bear for being dangerous? If you did, what kind of attitude would people have toward bears? Would we hunt and imprison them for being dangerous?
People get upset when someone shoots an animal if it attacks someone. They say it was just being the animal it is. All I'm saying is give humans the same respect you would give any other animal.

So what you're saying is that the people of Ferguson and other black protesters have the intellect of a bear in the wild. Got it. Also, nobody has free will so nothing is anyone's fault.

People, stop doing drugs and posting FFS.

How about not being a bunch of inconsiderate assholes and blocking the flow of traffic. From looking at the video, he may not have noticed the open lanes to the left of him. There was a silver sedan to the front left of him and he/she was in the far right lane.
LiveLeak has the full footage, the driver basically just slowly drives into the crowd and starts knocking people over. I don't think this person cared about any open lanes.

The crowd was chanting his license plate number, I wonder if he got caught later.

The asshole is the driver who ran over people.

Jim Croce's Bad Bad Leroy Brown plays in my head every time I hear news about this story.

Woah!
Bad, Bad Leroy Brown

Well the south side of Chicago
Is the baddest part of town
And if you go down there
You better just beware
Of a man name of Leroy Brown

Now Leroy more than trouble
You see he stand ‘bout six foot four
All those downtown ladies call him "Treetop Lover"
All the men just call him "Sir"

And he's bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damn town
Badder than old King Kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog

Now Leroy he a gambler
And he like his fancy clothes
And he like to wave his diamond rings
Under everybody's nose

He got a custom Continental
He got an Eldorado too
He got a 32 gun in his pocket full a fun
He got a razor in his shoe

And he's bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damn town
Badder than old King Kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog

Well Friday 'bout a week ago
Leroy shootin' dice
And at the edge of the bar
Sat a girl named Doris
And oh that girl looked nice

Well he cast his eyes upon her
And the trouble soon began
And Leroy Brown had learned a lesson
'Bout a-messin' with the wife of a jealous man

And he's bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damn town
Badder than a-old King Kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog

Well the two men took to fighting
And when they pulled them from the floor
Leroy looked like a jigsaw puzzle
With a couple of pieces gone

And it's bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damn town
Badder than old King Kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog

And he's bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damn town
Badder than old King Kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog

Yeah he was badder than old King Kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog.

People shouldn't be to harsh with the step father's words. He is a grieving man, who is distraught at the injustice against his family.

What injustice was that exactly? That the circumstances surrounding the death of his step son are, at best, murky. Oh, the horror!

And, when does that give you cause to incite a riot?

They sure were showing all the non-violent protests all over the news last night.

Sort of, but not exactly. I said "they're not showing the not negative protesters" The hands up don't shoot sign people lead to pissed off white people like the guy I responded too. And it makes some black people people upset at the percieved injustice. The "peaceful" protesters who have signs that insinuate that the cop was wrong here aren't really a peaceful protester because they're prodding others to get them angry.

imho the fact it's not even going to trial is a huge injustice, while there is evidence supporting the cops side of the story. It's not concrete enough to where a trial isn't needed. The family should have been given a chance to see this play out in court. Even if it ended with the cop getting off, at least it could have been argued with lawyers.
