when the nowhere mom stuff was happening, i was sitting in my parents house reading denis's posts and he said something like "im so angry i could kill a million people" and that always struck me as a very strange/funny line and i just heard him read it in that interview at 19:38.

in that interview they just mentioned "wombatwoman" anyone else remember that name? i cant remember too many names from those day (except maybe russ, red dawn, electric amish,...?) what ever happened to all those peeps?

I remember WW well, and think of her often. She was (is) a lovely woman, gentle, with incredible intelligence and grace. Last I saw of her was on Yahoo Answers under the name PinkFreud. Not sure if she's still out there or not.

Russ is still tending his computer shop, thick with cigarette smoke and quick fixes, in Kent, WA.

Red Dawn married baffled2 (aka GeekBabe) and I believe they both live in Southern California somewhere.

I haven't kept up with EA, sadly, but I earnestly hope he's well. He's a great guy.

Someone contacted me on Facebook about this. I hadn't yet heard, so I checked his page as well. He was always very, very nice to me. R.I.P. Denis.

Doesn't seem to have been determined yet. It's known that he had some kind of chronic immune system weakness, and he'd just recently had to share a plane with someone who was so sick they shouldn't have been out in public, let alone flying.

I saw the post about the airline letting that person fly. I'm surprised they let that person fly. Too easy to spread stuff like flu across borders.

Pressurized cabins packed with passengers with naught but endlessly recirculated air are known incubators.

If this is what felled Denil, it almost feels like the furies f*cking with him for dealing with death so casually in his hoax.

That's what I thought as well, unless they went back to where Mike moved from which was either Madera(Sp? Sorry!) or Merced.

He's still a regular at "the site which shall not be named." He and his better half still live in the Boston area.

I noticed that the obit posted earlier was rather vague with details. Usually, you would see "prolonged illness" or something more descriptive. An obit like this makes me assume one thing

Or, it could be the French, or French/Canadian way of obits, or just what his family wanted out there.

Keep in mind that the family gets to decide if there is an obit and also what is said in it.

I missed the announcement, due to, well, avoiding OT to get work and sleep done. But, RIP. AT is now one less crazy. I can't say I was exceptionally fond of Dennilfloss, but he was quite the character to have around, that's for sure.

Yeah, Jean (WW) is a real person and definitely not a creation of Denil. I don't why anyone would think that. Their posting styles were markedly different and each, profoundly unique.

Jean was/is an amazingly intelligent person and the kind of poster who always had something really worth reading. I never quite understood the outsized hate for her from a certain cadre of posters -- seemed to me to be more about them than her. <shrug>

To this day, on a more or less yearly basis, she'll contact me in a way that shows she still lurks now and then on ATF
.
Finally, yup, for anyone not convinced, there is that video of her appearing on Jeopardy on youtube.

One of the more entertaining posters I have come across on the internet.

Rest in peace.

My condolences to his family
