Rip music from an mpeg

Does anybody know of any free utilities that would allow me to rip music from an mpeg file?

Maybe vdub, your whole FREE thing kills most of your choices and some more user friendly ones also.

Well I only need it for about 5 minutes to get the Xiaolin Showdown theme out of an mpeg.

Yes, they even have more formats allowed than Virtual Dub. I've ripped the audio from WMVs for example, which is not allowed in Virtual Dub because of Microsoft getting a bit anal with Avery Lee.

EDIT: I was using Premiere to do this.

Premiere is good but if you want a audio only program Audition, has a rip sound from movie file option also.

Waaaay back in the day I used CoolEdit. it was free but I have no idea if it is still around.

I just need that one theme for a dvd compilation Im making for my son. Probably all of 20 seconds long

Go ahead and steal the thread, I may get stuck having to track down a pay solution if vdub doesn't do it.

I believe cooledit was bought out by adobe and became audition....

I believe Cool Edit is now Adobe Audition.

dBpower amp converter can do that I'm pretty sure.

I've done it with .wmv files before so I'd assume it can do .mpeg.
