I feel very little antipathy toward Mr. Sanderson,
unlike the ill will I harbor George Martin. Martin screws around and does anything but work on the series, which has been entirely under his own control. Sanderson basically was handed a shit sandwich, 11 completed novels, and told to write a final volume, and oh, here's some notes. He's been working nonstop and the problem he has isn't that he can't write, it's that he's written so much they don't know what to do. Now that's a problem worth having.
I haven't read anything by BS so I have no idea if it's going to suck or not, but I appreciate the effort he's put into this and I suspect many will feel the same. If RJ had lived I find it unlikely he'd have been able to finish it up in one volume either, he'd have mea culpa'd and just released as many as he needed. His one final volume promise aside, you just can't mass-publish a 1500 page book these days.
