ripped off? other advice?

just finished ordering the parts for my new PC (ive posted for suggestions and the like previously) ... this is what i went with

cpu: AMD Athlon 64 939 3200+

board: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe

ram: 1GB (2x512) Corsair Value Select PC3200

gpu: Geforce 6800GT 256MB PCI-E

sound: SBLive Audigy 2 OEM

case: it's a 6A Series IC800BK2 ... i have no idea what vendor makes it (cant find anything.. its made from china) but it was highly recommended by a friend of mine who works at the local cpu parts store... he liked the 120mm fans (2) and the abundance of shock pads.. for $54, i cant argue..

PSU: took the advice of a few people here and bought a new PS.. went with the Sparkle Power FSP550-60PLG which was apparnetly (as im told) made by Fortron PSU. http://tinyurl.com/4avb5

HDD: Putting my current 36GB raptor in to run OS and vital apps. putting a 7200rpm SATA Maxtor 200GB drive in for files..

DVDROM: Lite-On 16x OEM

DVDBurn: Sony DRU710A


cashed out, i spent approximately $1463.36

rape? decent deal? anything you would have done instead? personally i think i got a decent deal.. could've gotten better if i would have shopped around more than i did (the components are coming from Monarch (gpu), Newegg(ram,hdd,psu,dvdburn), and a local shop (cpu,board,sound,dvdrom)

personally, without some 5.1 high quality speakers, onboard audio would've been just fine.
not the best of deals but its pretty good.

i built a pc for a friend a month ago with a agp8xslot and 6800 and 3200+ with 17" crt monitor for $1150(newegg sales[a little over 1200 after shipping])only 80gb hdd though.

hmm.. good point on the onboard.. i might skip out on the sound card.. (havent picked any of the local stuff up yet.. waiting on income tax check)

Do you have the prices for the individual components??? Specifically .... what did your 6800gt pcie cost, and where did you get it?

Overall it does look good. I think your PS is 20 pin, but with the asus board you can still run everything fine.

The price of that fine system is about on target. Is the local shop assembling it? Does it come with windows. I think you picked good parts by the way. OTher than the phatom case, which is hit or miss, you did a fine job, though I dont know much about the psu you got, but if people say its good your set.

good deal on the memory. board price sorta high msi si only 189 and gigabyte only 215. gpu is good.
