Ripping games to ISO

I want to rip my games into ISO images to my HDD and use them with a virtual CD-ROM program. 1. Is it possible? 2. If so, what is the best program to do this?

Note: This is not for any illegal use. I just want to be able to run all my games from the HDD.

You might also look into making mini-images that only take up 10MB or so vs. having an image of the entire game CD/DVD on the HD.

Making a Mini Image (only works for safedisc games, and not all versions of safedisc, v3 and belowe almost alwasy work, v4+ has some trouble sometimes. Also, when and if you use a mini image, useing some anti-blacklisting software like Safedisc Hide (Linkin site linked on top) or SR7 Stop, etc. all on same page)

Sometimes I find it hard to create a mini image of a game because of some dam protection. I just go to the above site (and no, it's not pr0n, or pirated software), and get the mini image for the game I want.

And I second Alcohol 120% (or third it )
But sometimes it has trouble with some of the new(er) protections. (Maby it's cause I havn't updated mine in a long time.)

be aware that technically stripping any DRM protected disks is illegal, because you're circumventing the DRM. Secondly on some games a perfectly ripped ISO wont work because the DRM wont let it, and even worse, some games' DRM wont let a game run just because you have installed game iso rippers or virtual CD drives.

Dont take this as a whine directed at you, i find the whole situation totally retarded. You buy the damn thing and get lumbered with this crap, while the pirates just remove it. (yes yes there is and certainly has been plenty arguments about who's fault this is and wether or not the companies are right to do this, I'm just saying it's a bloody nuisance regardless)

It sucks that pirated software is better than purchased software. When I buy game the first thing I do is download a no CD patch. Of course breaking DRM is a crime just like pirating software so it's still just as criminal. Does seem to take away the incentive to purchase, doesn't it.
