It is a blalance of the two. But a little more like AOE. I am a civ fan (and only like AOE) but I liked this a lot (played it at lans, don't own it, but I might jump on this deal).

It is just like AOE. But sometimes I feel that age transformations happen too fast.

I liked Civ1 and 2 and AOE but did not care for Civ3. Was it the game or did I just get tired of the series?

I picked mine up yesterday.
The salesman was perplexed and pointed out that the price tag was $50 but the computer came up with $20.
Brilliant! Dumb ASS! He doesn't know the status of his own stock.
I mentioned that there was a sale sign for $20.

Everything I've ever read about this game claims that it is awesome and easily one of the best of the year it was created and the year after.

I didn't get the expansion pack.
I assume it will be available for $20 regularly when I'm ready to expand.

Cool deal! I had picked up both at Best Buy for $25 each few days ago but had not opened them yet. Went to Circuit City and I picked up both for $20 each in store. There were no price tags on either shelf, and the main game. The expansion was marked $29.99. Both rang up at the register for $19.99 and I didn't argue it. Now gotta return the others back to BB.
