Risen 3: Titan Lords; Third time a charm? *Update: gameplay*

Risen 1 and Risen 2 weren't exactly successful, nor as popular as the Gothic games.

But, Risen 3 is about to launch, in August. Admittedly, I completely missed its announcement too, didn't know it existed until Steam updated and added it for pre-orders

I quite enjoyed Risen 1 & 2 so this was pre-ordered the day it went up, I have since upgraded the edition and I have good vibes about it.

I liked the first 75% of Risen 1 (hated the last 25% and specially hated the last boss fight, which I couldn't win so I just watched the ending in youtube). I did like Risen 2 a lot more than Risen 1. I'll definitely play Risen 3, but with so many games in my backlog (thanks Steam and GOG Summer sales!), I'll just wait until it's 50% or more discounted. No rush.

I was surprised to see it on Steam as well. Depending on user comments, probably will give it a try when it goes on a good sale. Really missing good single player RPGs lately. Hoping DA Inquisition will fill the bill. I am really disappointed that Elder Scrolls had gone the online route.

Thanks to the OP on this one I would have probably missed this Now I have an RPG to look forward to and to keep me busy till Dragon Age Inquisition comes out. I already have Risen 1 and 2 so well worth grabbing the third and having the trilogy thus far.

I sort of agree,Risen 1 was pretty good especially as a mage and I liked the murder quest in the monastery etc...Risen 2 I finished but did not think it was that good especially the stupid ending with the boss fight.


Risen 3 I'm hoping it is more like the first game.

They removed the weed and brothels from No 2 didn't they? Sad. 3 will likely be serviceable and that's it. First two were decent. Don't forget that Raven's Cry is coming out too along with Sacred 3.

Risen 2 was god awful. I wouldn't even recommend paying a dollar for that game. I don't expect this one to be any better.

I liked Risen a lot, enough that I was thrilled when I heard that Risen 2 was coming. Unfortunately numerous attempts to enjoy Risen 2 have all led to uninstalls after just a few hours. It is just dull all around, combat is not enjoyable, and reading the dialogue is a chore. I'd love to see Risen 3 be everything Risen 2 was supposed to be, but barring some raving reviews I'll likely pass on it until it hits the $10 range.

Dialogue not too bothered about,anyway between this game, Sacred 3 and Divinity Sin(which I have just finished downloading) should keep me busy for awhile,hopefully until DA-I is out in November.

Yep I've got to the inn in Sin and enjoying it so far,I've pre-ordered Witcher 3 CE version as well.

Getting back on topic I hope Risen 3 has had some good bug testing,I remember Risen 1 with the bugs at the monastery and had to reload a save quite far back.


Anyway we'll find out in a few weeks time.
