The Radeon was review using the December released
7041/D7.16 drivers with the further enhancements
to the already great 2D quality. Overclocked
to 190Mhz, it outperformed both the MX and GeForce DDR
products running the Detonator drivers. Some quotes
below.
"Before I get into benchmarks and raw numbers I have another
area that needs to be addressed: visual quality. Throughout
my tests I noticed that the Radeon constantly produced
superior visuals over the other cards tested, and frankly over
any card I have had the pleasure to work with. This quality
manifested itself in more vibrant colors, and noticeably
sharper display in both Q3 and 3D Mark."

"At 16bpp
the Radeon and MX post near identical scores, with the Prophet DDR taking the
lead. Switching to 32 bit color the Radeon comes into its own. Boasting almost
a 400 mark lead over the Prophet, and close to a 1000 mark lead over Nvidia's
GeForce MX. Out of this roundup, the Radeon definitely seems to be the choice
for 32bit D3D gaming. Once again overclocking gives really significant
increases, taking ATI's card to the Prophet's level in 16bpp, and boosting 32
bit scores by over %10"

"Those looking
for the ultimate in visual quality with 32 bit color and
all the graphical goodies will definitely want to check
this one out"
