I've destroyed two of these in 2 months before I got a real rice cooker. It's not a heavy duty, use it daily model.

Serves the family well.

Come to think of it, my family has never had one of the huge rice cookers. I usually see those at parties...

It's a 10 cup, so that is a steal at that price if you use it every other day. If you use it everyday, i suggest you buy something more heavy duty. Then again, for $10, you could buy 4 and still come up ahead.

If you want a great rice cooker, you gota go w/ Tatung.. if you can't find them, goto chinatown or some sort of town of lots chinese people. These cooker never break, according to my mom. We have 1 in our house and been using it for 11 yrs now. If you don't know this brand search the board for Tatung and you'll see a thread of flat screen tv. I was kinda surprised that they made tv.

using a national brand rice cooker that works great. these cheap ones just never can cook rice properly

The cheap microwave rice cookers work much better than those.

Just stick in the microwave, 15mins later it's done.

I am kinda suprrised that they make rice cookers. I thought they only made ultra-low quality computer monitors, TV's, etc.

I believe they started w/ kitchen wares then moved onto electronics...
