"Their yearly total for farmer suicides from 1995 to 2009 brings us to a total of 240,000. " If they are surviving so well being poor why are they killing themselves, lol.
"Money doesn't buy happiness. But it sure helps."

Historical records of Jesus exist from ancient Rome, as does your lack of understanding or education about him based on your post.
Some guy named Jesus probably did exist. The dead/zombie/deity Jesus character is the fictitious one.

I'm glad to see that most of the political extremism of OT has been concentrated into one individual. Makes for a more pleasant and entertaining viewing experience.

I don't see the big deal. They have problems too they're just different ones. It's like having a Porsche vs a ford escort. Sure the Porsche might get you to the speed limit faster and in a "more fun" manner, but overall you have the same amount of fun, you're just doing something different.

This is why money doesn't buy happiness. If I was loaded I wouldn't even know what to do differently. I'd be buying a house, just a different house, but in the end I'm still just buying a house.

Ah, the jealous people. It must be sad going through like knowing you will never attain that kind of wealth.

But you know what, there is a starving kid in Africa right now that would fucking LOVE to be in the US "Lower class". They would probably think the same thing if I showed them my bar tab on a Saturday night.

It is all relative.

It's quite sad indeed, and it is needless. To not feel jealous, you only need to do two things.

1. Keep in mind that as rich as these kids are, they will never attain the wealth that Mark Zuckerberg has, and as rich as Mark Zuckerberg is, he will never attain the wealth of Bill Gates. So even when they try to make other people feel small, there is always someone much, much bigger than them. And what does Bill Gates do with his money? Helps starving kids in Africa. lol.

2. Live a fulfilling life. Admittedly, this is easier said than done. But when I see a receipt scanned like the one in this thread, I don't feel jealous of kids living large, I feel sorry for kids whose lives are so meaningless that they need to try to validate them by spending obscene amounts of money and posting proof on the internet. I can remember being that insecure, and I can remember that acting out like that never made me feel any better.

Before I read this thread, I had never heard of Saint-Tropez. Wikipedia has a picture with a bay and lots of beautiful sailboats. I wonder how many of those kids sail, or play soccer, or kite surf, or backpack, or do any of the hundreds of things that I would do if I became far less wealthy than they apparently are. I hope they do, and at the point I imagine they'll be too busy really enjoying themselves to bother posting receipts on the internet,

That's the problem. There is no "next" after a while. Once you can do anything you REALLY want to do that money can buy, you have nothing to look forward to.

This is the same mentality jealous people have. Everything sounds great, but really it is just a shortcut to boredom.

If I had similar wealth I might even still work a job, just to have a routine and a challenge. This is of course if I couldn't find ways to challenge myself.

Jesus Christ, do you fucking ATOT posters even fucking read? This has nothing to do with 'how much they make versus how much we make', this is how much we're getting taxed versus how much they're getting taxed. And also the disproportionate political influence they have.

Hard work is taxed at a known rate. If you don't like paying the taxes on hard work, stop doing hard work and do something else. This is like complaining that taxes are too high on a specific breed of exotic salt water fish.

"It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of needle than for the rich to enter the Kingdom of Heaven."

-Jesus

You are taking this deeply out of context.

I guess Joseph of Arimathea was trash to you, simply because he was wealthy.
Yet he is sainted by the Roman Catholic Church, The Anglicans and the Eastern Orthodox Church.
So unless you are a member of a fringe cult, shut the hell up.

it's always amazing to me how much time some people spend worrying about what others have that they don't. I like to enjoy the life I have

First off they aren't paying the premium for the drinks it's for the location/service/surroundings/etc/etc. Secondly even if I had that kind of money I wouldn't spend it like that.

It's their money so I think they should be able to do what they want with it and being jealous of them won't get you anywhere. I do agree though that they should pay slightly more tax % than the average Joe, but not a lot.

Your post makes no fucking sense at all. In what universe should gigantic returns on gigantic passive investments be taxed at a lower rate than hard work.

Wasn't there a short lived reality show where rich kids had to learn how to do real jobs? They had to commit to a certain length of time doing it. I remember some queen bitch type threatening to have daddy fire one of the producers if he forced her to do some job. I think it was rounding up cattle or some such. I usually don't watch shows like that so my memory is a little foggy.

The Simple Life with Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie. The show usually degenerated into them laughing at their host family and refusing to do the work before driving back to their mansions.
