hi, I had the asus sli board but got tired of fiddling with it to get it to work. I wrote an RMA request to zipzoom about 5 days ago and have not gotten back to me.

Has anyone RMA'd them before?

My reason was incompatability, my power supply was 20 pin and they never advertised the board as that. And the manual said that 350w would handle my parts(in the table givin by ASUS) and it didn't.

Does this sound like a legitimate RMA?

Anyone else not gotten a response from them?

any help is much appreciated.

Good luck. It says in bright red on that board "Non-refundable. Exchange for defective units only."

Agreed. ZZF is slow to process RMAs. I had to call multiple times before a refund was finally issued. It took over a month from the time I shipped the item back until a credit was posted to my account.

In addition, they will not budge on the 15% restocking fee if the returned item tests fine with their equipment. I had an Intel motherboard that would not post with certain memory configurations. The problem was consistent and repeatable for me with multiple brands of memory I had on hand. However, they claimed the board was fine. I gave up trying to get a full refund after several emails and voice messages to managers went unreturned.

I hope this costs them some business. I do most of my purchasing elsewhere now.

I will never shop with zipzoomfly.

They had a 10 dollar off deal on an antec sonata that I was interested in when I was a mere noober looking for parts, Dec. 31 2004. I had read a lot of reviews (Damn tech reviews, they are as inconsistent between each other as can be!!!), and thought it a good deal. This was the last night of their deal. When I tried to purchase with my credit card, it wouldn't process. It was new years and sometimes my card doesn't process at odd times, but not from lack of funds. Well that was a Friday night, so I couldn't call zipzoomfly to find out what was wrong and what I could do, and I half expected it to be a problem on their side. Checked their site out and found that they weren't open again until Monday. On Monday I called and try to get it resolved. I had proof that I tried to order from them the Friday before, but the sales person said their prices change from day to day, and if you don't get your card processed on the day of the sale, you don't get the deal.

If only they had maintained that one 10 dollar deal, they would have gotten more of my money in the future. I explicitly told them that this case was one part of a 1050 dollar deal, and that could be proved by the shopping cart which I had filled that previous Friday with all the stuff ready to go.

Needless to say they won't see one red cent from me ever in my life, and I make sure to spread the word to whomever I can. I expect some reasonable flexible in any company that I deal with, not arrogant tactics.

I ended up going with mwave, and had no problem geting them to change certain parts of my order or answer questions, and on top of that they had a $10 off promotion. I took it as a sign. My total price there including shipping still came under zzf's price.

Good luck with that company, I am convinced they are soulless.

yeah i'm just hoping for the best right now. I really like to purchase from newegg.com, but what are you going to do when your a college kid with little money and see zipzoom with $20 less off of an item. It's hard to jsut give the extra money away, even though if something goes wrong you'd be better off with the more expensive buy.

I had an RMA with them over a year ago and didn't have a problem...was notified within 3 days, and I tracked the package and I had my credit posted 5 days after they received it. Maybe I was the lucky customer of the year.

Took them 5 days to get me an RMA number.

Took them 3 days to acknowledge they had it after I mailed it back (had a tracking number that proved it got there, they couldnt find it for 3 days).

Its been 10 days now since they claim to have had it (13 if you believe the post office). Still waiting for my refund.

It takes a minimum of 2 days to get a response via email. I gave up on that, and started calling them when I had a problem.

That is the other problem I noticed with them... they won't say anything official in an e-mail where they have to live up to it legally. They only talk on the phone so they can deny everything or anything they say when it is convenient for them.

I am in the process of RMAing to them at the moment, just waiting for USPS to hand off the board and then another estimated 10 biz days to get my refund minus 15% restock and return shipping back. No wonder their prices are good, they don't even have a toll-free number  I still shop there frequently though, and this RMA is my bad in a sense. I bought a KW7 for a bud because they had their heart set on a Via chipset from Abit because they are a Abit+Via whore Anywho, it is shat for overclocking so back it went.

I had to RMA some memory a while back. Was building a system for a customer and accidentally had two different memory kits in the cart. Received an RMA # within a day and they didn't charge a restocking fee since I had not opened the memory. Even received an e-mail from the rep confirming they'd got it and that I wasn't lying about not using it. Since that time, I've bought an A64 + MB combo and 1 GB RAM from them. Cheaper prices than newegg (still love their site and continue to shop there as well) and free 2-day shipping sealed the deal.
