Idiot truck driver was an idiot. Tried to merge into mustangs lane without signalling, and deserved the first honk. Then he goes and over reacts like a tool.

Mustang changes lanes to the right one lane. Pickup tries to change lanes to the left into the Mustang's lane, without signaling or looking. The Mustang is already there. Mustang honks at pickup driver for the bad driving and near collision.

Mustang then changes into the same lane as the pickup, in front of the pickup.

The pickup driver get pissed off when the Mustang gets in front of him.

The pickup driver tries to make an aggressive road rage maneuver to pass the Mustang on the left, and loses control and begins to spin out.

Pickup hits Mustang in the left rear, Mustang spins, pickup climbs embankment and crashes on the other side.

Pickup driver is a total moron.

The driver of the dashcam was also speeding... I'm surprised money grubby CHP didn't cite him.

Faster than the traffic to his right, but with traffic flow, imo.

What makes Truck drivers such dicks? I had a truck driver take three stabs at my car trying to get me let him through yesterday. Because I was ahead of him at a merge point (and since his lane was the merging lane I had right of way). Instead of just letting of the gas just slightly and falling in behind instead he speeds up on the shoulder and does three quick jerks at my car to get me to cede the spot to him.

There was nothing this mustang did that should have qualified for the anger that truck driver displayed. I hope the driver uses this downtime in the hospital to reevaluate his life and look into what got him to this point.

Consider the personality type that buys a truck for anything other than work and it's no surprise why truck drivers are dicks. I have yet to meet a single person who daily drives a truck who wasn't obviously deeply insecure inside.

Even less surprising is how you almost never see an old lifted truck, even though people have been lifting their trucks since the dawn of time. Hint: once they're lifted, they don't stay shiny-side-up long enough to get old.

Generalize much?

Looks like a drunken guy in a pickup to me.

That or just stupid.

Actually had some idiot do a similar thing in a truck yesterday, he almost took off my right front fender speeding on the inside lane and pulled in front of me in heavy traffic.

And yes, I've had 4x4s myself in the past, but never drove it like some of the morons I see in them these days.

I had a pickup for 8 years. Never drove like a psycho.
In general I think violent assholes are drawn to big vehicles. But its not 100 percent consistent.
I think douche bags are drawn to Acuras. But its not all Acura drivers. Just like, I dunno, maybe three-quarters.

I just observed a lifted truck today driving way too fast for his vehicle's capabilities and was tailgating someone that had the nerve to only drive 10 mph over the speed limit in the center lane. The driver moved and the truck sped off at nearly 100.

But real dicks drive BMWs. I thought everyone knew that.

errrr.... did anyone watch the other car in the video? The truck was probably speeding, but it looks like the car on the right pulled into the lane the truck was in cutting him off and causing the truck to veer left.

No, I don't see that at all. You need to put the videos in context.

Only two cars involved that I can see, the innocent Mustang, and the guilty pickup.

I get that, heck my roommate has a truck (non-work related) and one of the nicest people I know. But the amount of needless angry or tailgating truck drivers out there beats just about every other car stereotype.

Yeah, there was a third car but I think it got off before that and was already in the lane (and was why the Truck driver wanted to get over). The Mustang looked like it was trying to get off as well (maybe next exit).

The car ahead of the truck gets off, the truck driver slams the gas to get back at the mustang, cuts way to hard with little traction to get into the lane next to the Mustang and loses the rear end.

There was no car ahead of the truck getting off, just a black one trying to merge on. If he was paying any attention at all he would have seen it coming down the on ramp long ahead of time and safely react to it. But nope he keeps his speed and only tries to move over at the very last second without looking or signaling.

Flooring any vehicle and driving like a dick is a good way to get yourself and other people in the hospital or dead, more or less.

I wouldn't say that people who drive trucks are necessarily insecure, but a large percentage of truck drives are absolute dicks. Since I drive a low end economy car I get tailgated, cutoff, etc. (A LOT) by all types of vehicles but the vast majority of people who do so are driving trucks. I have literally been run off the road multiple times (WTF). And no, I'm not doing 50 in the left lane. Maybe they think the lives of those who don't drive ginormous vehicles is worth nothing? I don't know.

Yeah watched it again, slow merger, that said the car that the mustang passed on the right slowed down to nearly the same speed, so maybe there was traffic coming up. I just thought the car cleared out because with the way the truck came into the picture I can't tell how a car could still be behind the mustang. looking at the Mustang feed it almost looks like he might have hit the other car as well.

Another topic that needs serious help. Mergers. Don't know about where this was taken, but its a horrible issue here in Mi. Its not even just about getting to speed. To many people merge by just cruising in the lane till it ends expecting there to be a spot for them. This merger holds a little of the blame here. He coasts into the lane without any attention to any cars. Either speeding up or barely lifting and slotting in behind the truck would have prevented interferreing with the travels of anyone else, which is his responsibility as the merger.

Ugh.. soo annoying here in fl. MOST onramps to i95 merge 2 lanes to one. Also there is a major backup road that runs along side it called williamson that is one lane most of the time until you pass through major intersections in which case it becomes two just enough to be annoying as piss when running through it cause your always re-merging.

I drive a truck everyday. I'm probably the most boring driver on the road. Always go speed limit and never over. I do that mostly for MPG.

Mustang looked to be in the right to me. The truck tried to creep into the lane and was startled by the Mustang. I'm not sure what happens after that. Witnesses say he tried to speed by but I can't tell anything from the video. Truck driver was a complete idiot though.
