Knew he had addiction and depression bipolar issues. I kinda thought at his age and having gone through his difficulties that he was a knight against those demons. I imagined he could just cut those difficulties in half when they came.

Had to pullover when I heard the news on the radio.

Like everyone else never would have expected this news

He's always been the same Mork to me - just expanding out a little in each new movie role

Browsing IMBD to remember some of my favorites...

Night at the Museum (Teddy Roosevelt)
Happy Feet (Ramon/Lovelace)
Robots (Fender)
The Final Cut (Alan Hakman)
AI (Dr. Know)
Bicentennial Man (Andrew Martin)
What Dreams May Come (Chris Nielson)
Aladdin (Genie)
Mrs. Doubtfire (Daniel Hillard/Mrs. Doubtfire)
Toys (Leslie Zevo)
Ferngully (Batty)
Hook (Peter Banning)
Jumanji (Alan Parrish)
Jack (Jack Powell)
Dead Poets Society (Jack Keating)
Mork & Mindy (Mork)

It's amazing how the death of someone you've never met can really put a dent on your day. Such an amazing dude
Jeez, I don't think I've seen a single one of those.
Some of my favorite movies of his:

Good Will Hunting
Good Morning Vietnam
The World According to Garp
Dead Poets Society
Moscow On the Hudson
Nor those.

I think of my favorite movies of his was "What Dreams May Come". So many comics are just tormented inside and no amount of money or fame can fix them...

Celebrities in general are. That much amount of fame, worship, sycophants, wealth, women/men, and all that will mess up a lot of people

The Fisher King is one of my all time favourite films. Will make me a bit sad every time I re-watch it now. R.I.P.

Robin Williams has done a ton of amazing movies, but The Fisher King is also one of my favorites. If you haven't seen this movie, watch it! It's on Netflix.

I've seen DPS, it was shown in some highschool class or another, and at the time I wasn't all that into it. That was a while ago and I'd probably not look at it in quite the same way if I saw it tomorrow. I've also seen Bicentennial Man, Flubber, Night at the Museum, Aladdin, and I caught pieces of a few others. He was definitely good, and I plan to get around to seeing Good Morning Vietnam... soon.

You've never seen Good Will Hunting or Dead Poets Society? Good God Man!!! Stop whatever it is that you're doing now and go see them!!!
On your recommendation I just put a hold on these two at my local library. I'm around 4th - 5th in line, it'll be a while, but I'll see them. Thanks!

BTW, that "whatever it is your doing" was watching the interview with Charlie Rose linked in this thread. Pretty amazing, I'm around 2/3 through it. He channels Jonathan Winters a lot, IMO. In the interview he mentions the experience of being with Winters like being with the master.
It's humbling. All the latest and greatest medical treatments at someone's disposal, all the fame and wealth, but none of that could save him from taking his own life.
A person's world can suddenly seem like a very lonely and frightening place. To quote my favorite poet, William Blake: "God save you and me from single vision and Newton's sleep."

How terribly sad. What a tremendously talented man. It's shame he couldn't manage to feed off of all the happiness he gave to so many and chose to let his own personal demons consume him instead.

There have been two famous deaths during my life that have grabbed me; John Candy and Robin Williams. :\

Just from watching his movies and interviews, it seemed like he had spectacular emotional highs, which too often go with spectacular emotional lows. If his acting and comedy is any indication how far his emotions swung to the high side, then his pain from the lows must have been profound indeed.

Rest in peace, Mr. Williams, and condolences to his family. Our world is a better place for having had him among us.

I'm personally not a big follower of celebrity things myself.

But I'd have to say for me right up there with when Stevie Ray Vaughan, and John Belushi passed away.

I'll leave it there have posted enough all ready.
