Robotech,
Please do the following:
Make a backup of your Quake 3 directory (suggested) so you can use it exclusively with Q3 Bench.
Underclock your system to 950mhz.
Set your GF-3 to default clock settings.
After doing this change your settings and please report the compiled differences.
Use the following program:
http://g256.com/guides/Q3Bench/
The direct download is here:
http://www.outragedgames.com/Q3Bench/Q3Bench.zip
Also download the following files:
http://www.outragedgames.com/Q3Bench/Quake3Demos.zip
Here is how to use it:
http://g256.com/guides/Q3Bench/guide.html
Please tell me what you get for 1024x768 with the following:
NORMAL, HIGH, and MAX configuration.
You can add as many resolutions as you want, Q3 Bench will do them all.
Please run at least 3 loops per demo.
Please run it with Demo0001 and Quaver.
Get Quaver here:
ftp://ftp.qnetp.net/ftp.3dcenter.de/downloads/files/quake3-quaver.zip
After running the loops, use the "Compile Results" button and post your results here.
After this, download the following:
ftp://ftp.qnetp.net/ftp.3dcenter.de/downloads/files/quake3-nv15.zip
Be sure to check the readme.txt so you know which demo to run:
"nv15demo"
If you have problems, because you are using 1.27g, use the following
"Old Mod Bugfix (oldmodbugfix.zip)":
http://www.fileleech.com/?skin=8&file=14766
It's two batch files that allow you to convert Quake to 1.17 and back to 1.27 when you are done - it works for both 1.27g and 1.27h.
It's helpful for playing older mods and timedemos.
Thanks!
