I'm looking to find a replacement for my aging Logitech G5. I bought a G500 but I never use it. I prefer to have a clickable scroll wheel. When I saw the review of the Kone XTD it piqued my interest but I am reluctant to purchase this on a whim as it is fairly pricey. Does anyone have this mouse?

I haven't seen a 'real' review yet and no one on esreality has commented about it. My guess is its not in contention as a decent mouse.

But hey if you want to get it and review the ms paint swirl and line pictures would be useful to others to show them sensor problems it has.

I have the ROCCAT..upgraded from a MX518 and I absolutely love it...and I am not guessing, I am talking from experience. I was afraid about changing from the legendary 518 (I was running it at 500hz) but now I feel dumb for even thinking twice about it.
The mouse is pure quality.
I got it from Frys at $70 but I think they increased the price now.

Same here. Been using my 518 for... crap as long as I can remember. Just upgraded to the XTD as it had the mix of options I wanted and am very happy with it.

I've got the Roccat Kone Pure which is smaller than the XTD. I should have stuck with the XTD because the Pure while nice is a little too small. It is a very smooth electrically operating mouse......German designed. Only a couple of issues with it. Wish the side buttons had a better feel to them as they are slanted at an angle. Also they need a dedicated Easy Shift or "Easy Aim" button on the right side for a total of 3 buttons. You lose a button if you program it for easy shift. I have a steel series sensei mouse ordered so this mouse may become a backup mouse.....depending on which one I like better.

I also have the Roccat Kone Pure and love it. It feels right in my hand and moves very smoothly. You have up to 8200 DPI at your disposal. The software has a lot of config and customization options. The lack of "Easy Aim" can easily be worked around by configuring one of the 5 profiles to have an 800 and 3200 (or whatever your preferred DPI levels) next to each other. Each profile can have 5 DPI levels preset to cycle through. I can't really come up with single complaint about its operation and handling.

Can someone please do a paint test to show us the actual handling of the mouse?

Its all well and good getting gushing reviews about how it feels but ultimately that is like reviewing a CPU without benchmarks, its not very useful. the grand majority of mice are fundamentally flawed, their sensors have issues and they don't represent your movements correctly and this matters a great deal to gamers (at least it should). Just because Anandtech hasn't worked out its reviews are worthless doesn't mean everyone should stop reviewing mice for matters, their ability to represent the motion of the user.

From an ergonomic standpoint and good everyday mouse the Steel series Ikari limited edition laser is hard to beat. Whether or not it excels in gaming vs the other Steel mice I don't know. This one just fits the hand like a glove......the Kone Pure did not.

It doesn't have the current laser sensor like on the
SteelSeries Sensei Pro Grade Fnatic but how much of a gaming improvement it would make in games I don't know.

Does anyone that has both the Fnatic or Sensei and the Ikari Laser......how much of an improvement in gaming does having SteelSeries ExactSens, FreeMove, ExactAim, and ExactLift make?

Just picked up a SteelSeries Sensei Raw mouse. The side buttons feel better than the Kone Pure mouse and the shape and length of mouse is about perfect. So will probably sell the Kone Pure.

On the Steel Series mouse wish the two side buttons were spaced a little apart or had a different texture or feel to tell them apart while gaming......plus the scroll wheel isn't the same quality as the Kones.
