It's been a long time since the Rock and Roll HoF was just "Rock and Roll." It's more about recognizing impactful artists anymore so it seems.

Still not sure LL is on that level, but he was before my time so I never really got to see what it was like in his heyday.

Much like Yes some of their songs are a little out there but Rush has some GREAT singles, a terrific drummer, a lead singer that sounds like a chick but makes it work, and there is actually discernible meaning from the lyrics in some of their popular songs. They should be in the HOF, no questions asked.

I didn't like it at first either but I learned to tolerate it as I picked up on more songs I liked from them and as time went on the music made up for it and I couldn't imagine any other lead singer filling in for Geddy.

Now if you want to talk worst lead ever, why does no one bring up AC/DC? I seriously can't get through 1 song they play because of that lead singer, which sucks because Back in Black might've been one of my favorite albums otherwise.

Steve Perry was pretty high pitched too but had great range.

I also hate Geddy Lee's voice. I used to hate James LaBrie's voice, but after a year of listening to metal/death metal JlB's voice is pretty tolerable.

This. If I remember correctly the R&R "HOF" is/was a privately-owned endeavor by some guy who uses it as a vehicle to snub artists that wronged him at some point in his life.
