Live is great stuff, never heard of the other two.

I'm discovering all kinds of stuff thanks to Yahoo Music (like all the 80's metal I missed).

Blind Melon was over a couple years in. They didn't have a fair shot.
Live was TOO christian.
Overkill became typecasted in my mind regarding Pulp Fiction, & I never looked at them again.

Live sold millions of records. Great band, but they certainly got plenty of recognition. I think the Geraldine Fibbers were the best 90s band that never really took off - but there were lots of others. Insane Jane and Five-Eight also come to mind. Jeff Buckley would be an institution now if he hadn't been such a junkie dumbass - but he got plenty of hype while he was alive.
edit: I'm sorry, but Blind Melon sucked - horrible whiny lyrics, boring songs, lousy singer.

It was. If you knew me you would know that while I like Nirvana, I think that they are quite overrated.

I think though that they never got recognition in their ability to orchestrate exceptional pop rock tunes time and again. Secret Samadhi barely sold, from what I remember. The only reason Throwing Copper sold was Lightning Crashes. If you admit to digging Live now, most people think they were a flash in the pan.

A bunch of great UK bands never got much recognition in the US...Pulp, Suede, My Bloody Valentine, Blur and The Verve (other than Song 2 and Bittersweet Symphony).
