Why would he wear that shirt to his place of employment knowing he would also appear on TV? That is just stupid.

Because when your job is landing a robot on a comet moving through space, nobody gives a fuck what you wear to work on a daily basis. Should he have considered wearing something a bit more professional, knowing he would be on TV? Of course. Is his shirt offensive toward women? Not in the least bit.

Shhhhh. I agree it's stupid. You agree it's stupid. But this thread is about Texas Hiker proving (again) what an ass he is. You missed the train man.

Women seem to disagree with you.

Not a good day for women. Dude led a team that landed a spacecraft on a freakin' comet and the official female reaction is "And THAT is what you are wearing?"

That reaction (in their name) should be far more offensive to women than the shirt, if they wish to be taken seriously.

One doesn't really excuse the other.

If I do a bunch of charity work in a "Bitches be trippin'" T-shirt, does it make my shirt any less offensive?

There is a reason why our ancestors carved images of women in ivory tens of thousands of years ago.

There is a reason why men look at womens boobs and butts today.

Femenist can demand men stop treating them as sexual objects. Not going to do any good.

Fully agree. We live in a strange world today where people have this odd habit of saying the exact opposite of the truth, and then labeling such behavior as polite, just and correct.
Women are sexual objects. It is how we evolved. No feminist movement will undo 3 billions years of evolution. When I see a women, the very FIRST thing that happens is a sexual evaluation of their body, and if approval is determined, then immediately following that is a very well calibrated observation and inspection of body language, facial expressions, tones of the voice etc, all to determine the odds of me FUCKING that women.
This all happens in less than 5 seconds and I couldn't stop it if I tried. It happens like breathing happens. It just happens. A woman's job is to look sexy and exist. My job is to fuck them as often as possible.

Nice shirt. Perhaps inappropriate to wear in that particular situation...but nice shirt.

Maybe you should read this,

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/a...tes-women-repress-certain-sexual-desires.html

Just about everything the woman "thought" turned her on was actually a turn off.

For women, social constructs get in the way of their true sexual desires.

Its sad that people turn to articles to know a woman's desire.

A woman wants a strong, powerful man to dominate them and provide for them. They want the man to assert himself and then insert himself. He is in control and the woman just lets it happen and she loves him for it. That's how it was in the cave and its no different now.
People pretend like we are different from what we were. Ignore all of the evolved social crap that's floating around in your 21st century head, and what you have remaining is your nature. You know what men want and you know what a woman wants by feeling it, not thinking about it.

Women seem to disagree with you.

Reasonable individuals disagree with me? If you are offended by a shirt with scantily glad members of either gender, especially when no genitalia is shown, you are not a reasonable person. And, claiming that due to wearing that shirt, the "offender" doesn't care about women in the STEM community is even further beyond reasonable.

Is the shirt appropriate? Not particularly. Is it some huge scandal, exposing another woman hater holding women in the STEM community, and the world, back? Hardly.

One doesn't really excuse the other.

If I do a bunch of charity work in a "Bitches be trippin'" T-shirt, does it make my shirt any less offensive?

But, that isn't what happened. If you did a bunch of charity work in a t-shirt with a picture of a fucking woman on it, anyone offended is a fucking idiot.

Felt sorry for this guy until I read about the apology. No integrity. Just like clarkson and many others faking apologies to keep their jobs and appease the idiots instead of telling them to fuckoff.

People that think this is sexist/discriminatory have never encountered actual sexism/discrimination.

A stupid move, yes, but only because he is representing an employer. The actual comment on sexism/discrimination is absurdly weak. Exhibit A: the internet. Exhibit B: TV. Both of these things have far more rampant and overt sexist/discriminatory overtones and imagery.

Man up?

That's rich coming from you, given your history with and attitude towards women and womens issues.

Real men view women as more than just objects.

My wife gets pissed when I treat her as an equal. She absolutely refuses to operate a chainsaw or even skilsaw. Ask her to help do a brake job and she acts like she does not want to get grease under her nails.

Last summer when I was building the new chicken yard, she could not handle the 100 degree temps. Her contribution to the chicken yard was to bring me water and check on me.

In return I got my meals cooked and my clothes washed.

What gives me the right to be a sexist pig? Between my wife and I, if someone will go to the emergency room for staples and a tetanus shot, it is going to be me.

If you want to be treated as a true equal, then act like it.

That scientist in the opening post, I am willing to bet he made a lot of sacrifices to get where he is at.

But yet someone unwilling to make those same scarifies criticizes him?

Did you install the "chicken yard" in your living room or your dining room?

I'd say your wife is the smart one, why should she do any demanding work when she has a knuckle draggin, he man, lug head to do it? Cooking a meal and putting clothing in an automatic washer and dryer is far easier work. I bet she had time to take a nice bath and watch TV while you were toiling away. Yep, she won on that deal.

Yea but she has to have sex with TH. If that is your definition of winning, I shudder to imagine what losing must be.

I hope she did take a nap.

Watch TV? She was probably playing words with friends or one of those facebook games.

As for the guy in the opening post, the harassment he received was uncalled for.

Maybe he only gets tug jobs.

Also that shirt should only be worn to work if your job is at a strip club.

I find it interesting that he may have felt some real regret about his choice of shirts. Could it be that he may have had some prior misgivings and ignored them. I hate tattoos and despise sexual images on my clothes, but I think the dude looked dynamically self expressive. I am a conservative but I appreciate artistically flamboyant. He can launch rockets and pay attention to the color of his shoes. There is something about offending judgmental small minded people that appeals to me. That's why I am curious about his reaction.
