Quick recap kids; a submissive woman on a chicken farm should be the role model of every woman out there.

Reality: most women tried that a while ago, they didn't like it too much - since most women had and have higher aspirations that just being a helping hand.

There is something about offending judgmental small minded people that appeals to me.

I love it when liberals are offended. I love the smell of feminist anger in the morning, it smells like victory.

Mission accomplished.

If you have to devote time to explaining your outfit so people don't get offended by it, you probably should just wear something else.

If someone is offended by a girl in a bikini they are either from the 14th century or the middle east. Neither of which mean two shits when it comes to what I wear, unless I am in that place.

I like the shirt. Wouldn't have worn it purposefully though if I was going to be on TV. Still, even if someone got upset at me wearing a shirt that I like because I was on TV, I wouldn't give a flying fart about their sensibilities.

That is what I am talking about.

Don't like my shirt, piss off.

My wife gets pissed when I treat her as an equal. She absolutely refuses to operate a chainsaw or even skilsaw. Ask her to help do a brake job and she acts like she does not want to get grease under her nails.

Last summer when I was building the new chicken yard, she could not handle the 100 degree temps. Her contribution to the chicken yard was to bring me water and check on me.

In return I got my meals cooked and my clothes washed.

What gives me the right to be a sexist pig? Between my wife and I, if someone will go to the emergency room for staples and a tetanus shot, it is going to be me.

If you want to be treated as a true equal, then act like it.

That scientist in the opening post, I am willing to bet he made a lot of sacrifices to get where he is at.

But yet someone unwilling to make those same scarifies criticizes him?

Pro-tip: You're not doing it correctly

Nothing gave you the "right" to be a sexist pig, you choose to act like that. When one makes such a choice one must live with the consequences.

Nothing gives people the right to harass someone over their shirt either

I think the real issue here is that people think the shirt looks good.

I thought graphic print shirts went out of style in the late 90's.

Honestly. If people didn't want to see women in bikinis, they shouldn't watch BBC news coverage of an unmanned space mission.

I see it as inappropriate in a professional sense. I think calling it sexist is going too far. Poor taste, yes.

Common sense? If this was twitter there'd be a thousand rabid dogs followers trash talking you.

I think the real issue here...

Is all the haters. Yeah, the shirt is stupid and his employer should have a dress code. Used to be we'd scold people and not try to ruin their lives.

Two things:

You have no right "not" to be offended.

Nothing gives you the right to be a bully.

Wearing a shirt is not the same as a physical assault. So those who are offended have to right to retaliate.

Not seeing where anyone tried to ruin his life. I just see a bunch of people voicing their opinions (pretty much scolding him).

Stephen Fry said:
It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so fucking what.

Have a free quote to help you out.

Which they have no right to do.

If someone is offended, they have no right to retaliate against the offender.

Nobody has a right not to have their feelings hurt.

I think the shirt is inappropriate but I can't help but see the contradiction that the OP has mentioned. On the one hand, Kim Kardashian gets naked for everyone to see and anyone that denies she has a right to do that is sexist and oppressing women. This guy does something way less extreme and he is condemned for being sexist.

This should have been taken care of in private by his employer. I don't expect employers to constantly monitor their employees because it frankly isn't practical to do so but after some shit like this slips out, it should be up to the employer to do something. This is a minor civic offense. I think that the stupid shit Kardashian does contributes to the degeneracy of society 1 million times more than this guy's stupid shirt.

People have no right to voice their opinions? I'll keep that in mind the next time you comment on literally anything.

I should have been more clear.

Offendees have no right to scold the offendors.

What you end up with are special classes who feelings are more important than others.

With Matt, I bet his feelings did not matter to those who scolded him.

People act like their opinions matter just because they have expressed them.
Its nice that people have their own opinions, it would just be nicer if they kept them private sometimes.

The guy has just just completed a 10 year mission to land an unmanned spaceship on a chunk of ice travelling at stupid speeds a ridiculous distance away. To ignore that and concentrate on criticising his shirt as sexist given the average public behaviour just seems petty and vacuous.
