Now reading more, would I be able to fit 2 of the EX-23 kits and still have room for 1 optical drive?

I took a quick look the other night when I opened the box. There is a plate between every second bay. The EX-23 would probably fit. I have a Silverstone 4 3.5 into 3 5.25, and this one will not fit without modification.

I did want to say this case is huge. But its purpose is to house a bunch of disks and sit in a closet 24/7. So the size isnt a big deal. I wouldnt use this for my personal computer, that is for sure.

The mod to get the plates out of the optical drive bays without drilling out all the rivets.....but this does leave two/four holes, which will be unseen when done.

Take case door and front off.

Looking from inside, you can see a dimple/"hole"/recess in front of the front mounting screws holding in the spacer/plate. Drill a 1/16" hole from the inside in the center of that recess on each side; you'll have either two holes, one on each side, or four holes, two on each side, in front of the screws. Then, using those holes as a guide, drill from the outside a 1/8" hole on each side into the 1/16" hole you already drilled. This new hole will allow you to slip a small Philips screwdriver through the new hole and unscrew the front spacer mounting screws. The rear screws are easily done without any work at all.

Then, remount the front and door. Holes are now unseen unless one really looks hard from the side......and towards the front.....and knows what you've already done and is looking for it.

As for the space in the top and modding...........I managed to fit a Thermochill 120.3 radiator w/fans and still have an inch of clearance between the bottom of the fans/radiator and the top of the motherboard. Easy, clean mod and fit.

Hi Jessica,

Do you have a pic of this? I need to do something similar and would love to see how you did it. Thanks!

The EX-23 will work and the i-Star (generic) 3-in-2 will also fit - not sure who really makes it. You may need to remove the toolless drive latches to get the EX-23 to line up properly in any but the bottom two slots as its screw holes aren't in standard locations, so the 23 will protrude a bit if fastened at the standard optical drive screw locations. Yet another L-L design stupidity.

I note that the Cincinnatti Craigslist guy also didn't fix the dimensions errors in his listing - shows he's just out for a quick buck - no effort to know his product and little or no conscience about it. Some of the sellers on fleaBay are doing similar. All my listings give accurate description (Rocketfish by Lian Li) and specs.

Learn how to pick locks... Really, these cheap locks aren't that hard and good for practicing on - all you need are two sturdy paperclips, one straight and one with a small hook (right angle bend) on the end . And the whole bezel comes off easily - just four screws - then you can remove the lock (or just the latch hook part of it) and play with it until you get it open. Maybe BB will send you a spare - probably all the same key... In the meanwhile, sit down in a quiet space and think on it until you remember where you last had them, and there they'll be...

The one I have here isn't permanently mine or I'd send you the spare.

Thanks. I actually am thinking on very hard. All I can remember is I put it away from my 1 year old baby, now I just can not find it anywhere.

Check if the keys are taped to the back of the parts box.. That's where mine were when I thought they were lost...

Yup, unless you pulled them off from the top of the box, that's where they are. What once was the top of the box can become the bottom depending on how you set it down...

does someone have a link to that thread wherein somebody cut out 3 120mm blowholes on the top and attached their radiator to the rocketfish to watercool their system?

There's a few on xtremesystems.

I went with a bottom mount on mine, where the hard drives normally go.

Lee's Summit, MO (64086) finally sold out of their stock.

I think I did see some in Springfield, MO when I was visiting there on 4/20/08 for my birthday (actually 4/18).

Thanks, good deal, I got one at 47.99 today. The box looked like it had been drop kicked
but hopefully the contents are OK.

Haha, mine has a few scratches up top. I've bought out Fiesta Mall BB this morning. They will have good homes.
